How To make Apple Cider Pound Cake
Beth Lane-PXGN54A 3 c Sugar
1 1/2 c Butter or Margarine
6 Eggs
3 c Flour; All-Purpose
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Baking Powder
1 ts Cinnamon; Ground
1/2 ts Allspice; Ground
1/2 ts Nutmeg; Ground
1/4 ts Cloves; Ground
1 c Apple Cider
1 ts Vanilla Extract
ICING:
1/2 c Sugar
1/4 c Butter or Margarine
1/4 c Buttermilk
1/2 ts Vanilla Extract
1/4 ts Baking Soda
In a large mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir together all dry ingredients; set aside. Combine cider and vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with cider mixture to batter. Mix until well blended. Spoon into a greased 10-inch angel food cake pan or fluted tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees F for about 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cake tests done. Meanwhile, combine all icing ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. While cake is warm, drizzle 1/3 of the icing over the cake. Serve remaining icing over individual cake servings, if desired. Recipe by Joanie Elbourn, Jamestown, Rhode Island. -----

A wonderfully flavored pound cake that is sure to impress.
1/2 cup softened butter
1/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. butter extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup Sparkling Cider
Glaze:
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup Sparkling Cider (Use much less if you want a thicker glaze)
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening and sugar together in a large bowl. Beat in eggs one at a time along with the butter extract. In a small bowl, combine salt, baking powder, and flour and stir to evenly combine. Add alternately with 1/2 cup sparkling cider to the wet ingredients and beat until well incorporated.
Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. (I used Pam with flour)-- cover well, it WILL stick.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and until a toothpick can be inserted and come out clean. Let cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack.
In a medium bowl, whisk sparkling cider and powdered sugar until smooth consistency is reached. Poor over cooled pound cake.

* 1 cup butter, softened
* 3 cups sugar
* 4 large eggs, room temperature
* 1 cup apple cider
* 1/2 cup apple butter or applesauce
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 3 cups all-purpose flour
* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
* 1 teaspoon nutmeg
* 1/2 teaspoon each cardamom and
ginger
Glaze
1/2 stick butter softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp each of spices above
1/4 teaspoon salt
1-2 tablespoons milk to thin

INGREDIENTS:
1 and half cups flour
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
12 tablespoons soft butter
1 and half cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
3. eggs
1/4 tsp baking powder
FOR THE ICING:
3/4 cup icing sugar (powdered sugar)
3 to 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar( depends on how much and how thick you desire it to be.
bake in a small loaf pan. GREASED.
preheated oven at 350 degrees
40 to 50 minutes.
ALLOW CAKE TO COOL DOWN AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE PLACING THE ICING ON

3 sticks unsalted butter at room temp
3 cups granulated sugar
6 eggs at room temp
1 tbs vanilla extract
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tbs apple pie spice
1 cup shredded green apple
1/2 cup apple cider at room temp
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp sea salt
