Crispy, Creamy Chicken Cordon Bleu
Servings: 6
INGREDIENTS
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
16 slices Swiss cheese
½ pound sliced ham
1 cup flour
4 eggs
2 cups panko bread crumbs
Creamy Dijon Sauce
3 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons flour
2 cups milk
¼ cup Dijon mustard
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
PREPARATION
1. Sprinkle the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, tossing to coat evenly.
2. On a cutting board, place a chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound until about ½ inch thick with a meat mallet, rolling pin, or heavy pan.
3. Remove the plastic wrap and place a layer of Swiss cheese, then ham, then one more layer of Swiss cheese.
4. Evenly roll the chicken, and place onto a new sheet of plastic wrap.
5. Wrap the chicken in the plastic wrap, twist the excess plastic, and roll the chicken while twisting the sides in to tighten and firm up the roll of chicken cordon bleu. Tie the excess and chill in the fridge to set for 30 minutes.
6. After the rolls are set, prepare large, wide dishes with flour, beaten egg, and bread crumbs, and dredge the chicken in the flour, egg, and bread crumbs.
2. Place the breaded chicken cordon bleu in a 325°F (170°C) pot of oil, and cook about 5 minutes per side or until the outside is an even golden brown. If a good color is achieved and the chicken’s center is still not 165°F (74°C), you can finish the chicken in an oven at 325°F (170°C) until that temperature is reached.
3. In a small pot on medium heat, melt the butter and cook the garlic until soft.
4. Add in flour, and whisk for 1 minute.
5. Add in the milk, and whisk until fully combined with the roux. 6. Continue whisking until the mixture comes to a simmer and has thickened.
7. Add in the Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese. 8.Whisk to combine. Set aside.
9.Slice chicken and drizzle with Dijon sauce. Enjoy!

Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu Crescent Rolls ups
Delicious and so easy family friendly dinner idea! Ham, chicken and cheese all rolled up in a crescent roll and then baked. YUM!
Chicken Bundles AKA Chicken Cordon Bleu
You will be amazed and delighted on how tasty and easy this recipe is to make. Pretty much its using cooked chicken (what a great way to use leftover rotisserie chicken) adding some deli ham, Dijon mustard and cheese. Its best to use a melty type cheese like provolone, muenster or even mozzarella. The possibilities are endless. Use the large puff pastry sheets when feeding a crowd, or use my money saving tip and use the smaller sheets of puff pastry that I picked up at one of the ethnic markets that I frequent ( I have a quick tip video on this subject. If you haven't seen it- please do!)

Chicken Cordon Bleu Crescent Pie Recipe ???? Torte Test Kitchen
Happy release day! A CUP OF HOLIDAY FEAR, the 10th book in my Bakeshop Mystery Series, is now officially available everywhere. And to celebrate this momentous occasion, I decided to share a delicious and easy dinner recipe straight from the book.
This Chicken Cordon Bleu Crescent Pie recipe was something I created for my 31 Days of Pie event last December. I received so many emails, messages, and requests for this recipe that I decided to include it in the book.
Speaking of 31 Days of Pie, I have another very fun & delicious December planned for you this year. Stay tuned for all the details on that and the giveaway that will go along with it.
Happy baking & reading!
CHICKEN CORDON BLEU CRESCENT PIE
INGREDIENTS:
2 ½ packages of crescent rolls
2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
6 slices of bacon, cooked and diced
6 slices of ham
6 slices of Swiss cheese
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp pepper
1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp butter, melted
Italian seasoning
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Arrange one of the packages of crescent rolls on a large baking sheet or pizza stone (leaving each roll in two rectangle strips) in a cross shape. Then overlay the next package of rolls so that there aren’t any gaps. Spoon chicken mixture into the center of the dough. Sprinkle bacon on top of the chicken mixture. Press ham around the side of the chicken mixture and then cover with slices of Swiss cheese. Fold the edges inward to form a round pie. Use two to four crescent roll pieces from remaining package to close the top of the pie. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes with a cookie sheet underneath to catch any juices that might spill out.
