One of the best things about this recipe is how easy it is to prepare and get cooking quickly. It’s perfect if you need to get dinner cooking quickly in the morning so you can head out and do other things.
Once cooked you might notice that the chicken has gone slightly pink on the outside. This pinkness is merely a result of the ham. You can check the internal temperature by using a meat thermometer. It should say a temperature over 70°C or 165°F, and if it is under that temperature then, it will need further cooking.
Leftovers are worth keeping as they will heat just fine for lunch or dinner. Just reheat the leftovers in either an oven or microwave. It’s essential that you do not use the slow cooker to reheat the leftovers.
I mention all the quantities for this recipe in the video above. However, if you need a list of ingredients, then you can find all you need right below.
420g (15 oz.) can cream of chicken soup
½ cup milk
½ tsp. garlic, crushed
1kg (2 lbs) boneless skinless chicken breasts
250g (7 oz.) ham slices
200g (6 oz.) sliced Swiss cheese
200g (6 oz.) dry bread stuffing
60g (2 oz.) butter, cubed
It doesn’t matter what cut of chicken you use for this dish. You can use either chicken thigh or chicken breast. Either cut will work just fine in this chicken cordon bleu recipe.
You can use breadcrumbs instead of the bread stuffing mix. Either one will work just fine, but the bread stuffing mix will have more seasonings and flavor.
I hope that this video has shown you all the steps to making slow cooker chicken cordon bleu. If you have any feedback, tips or anything else, then please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below or over at slowcookingperfected.com
