Ingredients 1 cup rolled oats 1/3 cup salad oil 1 each egg 1 cup buttermilk or sour milk 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed 1 1/2 cup blueberries 1 cup unbleached flour 1/2 teaspoon soda 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon cloves, ground 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon allspice 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions: Soak oats in milk until moisture is absorbed. Add salad oil, egg, brown sugar and blueberries and mix thoroughly. Mix together flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, salt, allspice and nutmeg and add to oat mixture. Mix thoroughly. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot.
