Carnitas Recipe | Cooking with Styles
I first discovered carnitas working at Consuelo's Restaurant in La Mesa. I was the dishwasher and got a meal to start my shift. There's nothing better than a carnitas burrito after a day of surfing when you're 16 years old!

NYT Cooking recipe for a childhood favorite, frosted sugar cookies
Our friends over at NYT Cooking brought us a recipe that has some nostalgia and a five-star rating. Some might remember the melt-in-your-mouth Lofthouse frosted sugar cookies that hit stores in the 1990s. This recipe recreates those flavors to give that soft, cakey and a little-bit-tart cookie.

Snickerdoodle Cookies
Hello everyone! We’re back again with another fun treat- and another special episode with a guest star!! Last week, Jake’s Nonna from his mom’s side taught us Italian cannoli. This week, Jake’s grandma from his dad’s side is bringing her heritage into play as well with a classic cookie with a lesser known background- the snickerdoodle! This cookie actually has German roots, and so does Jake’s family! The recipe is handwritten in our family’s cookbook, so sadly cannot be transcribed to this description, but hopefully, if you are interested in recreating these tasty treats yourself, our nifty pop ups will serve their purpose! See you next week!
