How To make Picadillo Con Alcaparras (Picadillo with Capers)
1/4 c Olive oil
2 lb Ground beef
(chuck or top round) 1 sm Onion; finely chopped
1 lg Ripe tomato; peeled, seeded,

and finely chopped 1 Garlic clove; minced
1 Bay leaf
1 ts Crushed oregano
3 oz Bottled capers
8 Pimiento-stuffed olives
2 tb Wine vinegar
3 tb Tomato sauce
1/4 c Burgandy wine
2 dr Hot sauce (more to taste)
1/2 ts Brown sugar
1 ds Nutmeg
1/4 c Water
Salt if needed Use a large skillet with cover. Heat olive oil and brown beef in hot oil until red of meat disappears. Combine onion, green pepper, tomato, garlic, bay leaf, crushed oregano, and capers. Add to meat in skillet. Mix well and cook covered for about 10 minutes on moderate heat. Cut olives into thin rounds. Add to the meat mixture together with the vinegar, tomato sauce, burgandy wine, hot sauce, sugar, and nutmeg. Stir well and cook 5 minutes, uncovered. Now add the water and mix well. Correct seasoning. If salt is needed, add it at this point (the salt released from the olives may be sufficient for your taste). Cover the skillet and cook at low heat for approximately 30 minutes, or until most of the liquid is absorbed. If the liquid is not absorbed sufficiently at the end of 30 minutes, cook uncovered until liquid evaporates. Serve over long grain white rice and ripe fried plantains if available.

If you haven't tried Cuban food before, you are missing out on a great cuisine! This is an easy dinner to make in a skillet, along with fried plantains to complete the meal! You have to try this!
INGREDIENTS:
1 large onion, diced small
1 large green pepper, diced small
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
1 pound ground beef, 93%
1 cup spanish stuffed green olives, sliced
1/4-1/2 cup tomato puree or crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup dark raisins
1 tablespoon capers, drained but not rinsed
2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
one jar chopped pimentos for garnishing
FOR PLANTAINS:
2 ripe plantains
3-4 tablespoons canola or neutral oil

A traditional Cuban and other Caribbean countries dish prepared with beef or turkey. This dish is traditionally served with white rice and black beans but can also be served on a bun as a Sloppy Joe or Sloppy Jose

6 Cloves Garlic
3 packets Sazon W/Con Azafran
Olive Oil
Salt Pepper
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Cumin Powder
Oregano Powder
1 Bay Leaf
1 1/2 cans Tomato Sauce
Sazon All Purpose seasoning
Dry White Wine (Vino Seco)
Olives (Green with stuffed Pimento)
Raisins (optional)
Capers (optional)

PICADILLO A LA HABANERA, esta receta es de mis preferidas, es muy rica y fácil de hacer. Yo le pongo pasas, aceitunas y alcaparras pero esta receta admite vegetales, papas o boniatos (camotes) o lo que gusten, en Cuba lo acompañamos con plátano de fruta o plátanos fritos o tostones???? ????????????
Ingredientes:
1/2kg de carne de res molida
- aceite de oliva
- sal, pimienta, ajo, cebolla y pimientos
- orégano, cilantro, comino y pimentón dulce
- tomate frito
- vino blanco
tips: Cocinar a fuego lento y si es en olla de hierro mejor

NANA'S PICADILLO RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
- 1 pound ground beef (can be kosher)
- 1 cup of Uncle Ben's Instant Rice
- 1 onion
- 1 large green pepper
- 1 eight ounce can of tomato sauce
- 1 eight ounce jar of sweet red peppers
- 1 eight ounce can of peas
- 1 small jar of slices olives (just a few spoonfuls)
- 1 small jar of capers (just a few spoonfuls, also)
- some dry wine
- oil (Goya or any spanish oil works great)
- some salt, oregano, GARLIC POWDER (or diced fresh garlic, if you're fancy), & italian seasoning
SERVES: ABOUT 4 - 6 (depending on how hungry you are)

Ingredients:
¼ cup oil
1 onion
1 large chili pepper
1 clove garlic
½ lb ground beef
½ of ground pork
¼ ground ham
¾ cup of capers or green olives
1 tsp salt
1 tsp accent
1/8 tsp pepper
½ cup tomato sauce
¼ dry wine
Preparation
Heat the oil and sauté the minced onion, the crushed garlic and the minced chili pepper in it. Add the meats and ham and cook it all for a few minutes stirring so it doesn't stick. Add the rest of the ingredients and let it cook over medium heat for about twenty minutes. Makes 6 servings.
