Delicious Sour Cream Cookies, Enjoyed by all ages! Golden Thought of Inspiration
Sour Cream Cookies have been a favorite of ours from childhood. This was a cookie Mom loved making for her family and a wonderful snack before going out to do dairy chores. We try to keep them on hand for Buddy's bedtime snack and it's a joy to see him reach for a warm cookie that is still on the cooling rack. It is great with a cup of coffee or a glass of milk.
We, along with other ladies from our church, made cookies, bars, pound cake slices and so forth for our youth group. The youth and 3 couples from our church, gave a week of their summer to go to Louisiana to help with Mennonite Disaster Service. They were helping with remodeling projects. The goodies were to help with sack lunches they took with them to the job site. We are so proud of our youth group that they gave of their time to do for others. The director said they were a great group - they had great attitudes and were willing to do whatever needed to be done even though it was hot and some of the work was not desirable to do. We are very blessed to have youth who are interested in others and want to contribute in whatever way they can.
Buddy has always been a special part of our family and we wanted to include him on our videos so that's why we have him with us when we do the Golden Thought. Buddy has been brain damaged since birth and is basically non-verbal. He was also diagnosed with epilepsy at 16 years old. He was very active in his earlier years but over time that has changed. It was hard on Buddy when our parents passed away. Then later we parted with a sister-in-law and 3 of our brothers. Our brothers were only in their 60's - so young!
Our Golden Thought for this video is Jesus not only wants your whole heart. He also wants to make your heart whole! Jesus' love is so powerful and the peace that comes when we surrender to Him is awesome. So let's give our whole heart to Jesus and let Him heal our hearts so we can experience true freedom.
