Baking dish: 21*21 cm.
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 120 grams of sugar (2/3 cup)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 60 grams of melted butter
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 150 grams of flour (3/4 cup)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 400 grams of frozen cherries
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 50 grams of flour
- 30 grams of sugar
- 40 grams of butter
Bake in preheated 350°F (180°C) oven / 45 minutes.
This recipe can be made at home with simple ingredients that are readily available in stores. Enjoy!

This Cherry season, try this easy to make and very delicious Cherry Upside Down Cake. This moist, caramelly and gorgeous looking cake tastes best warm with some Vanilla Ice cream.
NOTE: You can substitute fresh Cherries with tinned Cherries or tinned Pineapples
INGREDIENTS:
Cherry Topping:
Butter (Room Temperature) – 60 gms
Brown Sugar – 120 gms
Fresh Cherries (Pitied & Halved) – 200 gms
Cake:
Sugar – 113 gms
Butter (Room Temperature) – 44 gms
Egg – 1
Flour (Maida) – 110 gms
Baking powder – ½ tsp
Baking Soda – ½ tsp
Curd – 60 ml
Water – 30 ml
Vanilla Essence – ½ tsp

¡uʍop ǝpısdn ???? Black Cherry Upside Down Cake Recipe This upside down cherry dessert recipe uses cherries left over from our Black Cherry Soda Pop recipe: But you could use either fresh cherries or frozen cherries to make this stunningly tasty cherry cake. So ditch that old Black forest cake recipe... for this amazing upside down cherry cake recipe.
Topping:
500g cherries
30 mL (2 Tbsp) sugar
30 mL (2 Tbsp) butter, melted
Cake:
125 mL (½ cup) butter
250 mL (1 cup) sugar
3 eggs
500 mL (2 cups) all-purpose flour
10 mL (2 tsp) baking powder
2 mL (½ tsp) coarse salt
2 mL (½ tsp) baking soda
250 mL (1 cup) plain yogurt or sour cream
Method:
Preheat oven to 220ºC (425ºF).
Grease a 9 cake pan and line with parchment paper.
Make topping:
Mix cherries, sugar and butter in the cake pan and place in oven for 35 minutes.
When cherries are cooked remove pan from oven and lower oven temp to 180ºC (350ºF).
When the topping is cooked, make the cake:
Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Cream in the eggs one at a time.
Whisk together dry ingredients in mixing bowl.
Alternate beating in yogourt and flour mixture.
Mix just until last of flour is mixed in.
Transfer batter to cake pan.
Bake for about an hour, or until a tester comes out clean.
Unmold while still warm.
