How To Bake Home-Made Snickerdoodles
Hello and Welcome to Taken Creations. The 4th Treat of the 12 Sweet Treats of Christmas is Home-Made Snickerdoodle Cookies. These soft, chewy cookies can be a great gift to someone special, brought to a Christmas party, a potluck, or just enjoyed at home. This is a half recipe, which made 18 cookies, I will list the full ingredients at the bottom, should you want to bake the full recipe.
The ingredients you'll need for this recipe are:
sugar, baking soda, an egg, cream of tartar, salt, ground cinnamon, butter, and flour.
The utensils you'll need for this recipe are:
2 bowls, measuring cups and spoons, a cookie sheet, another measuring cup, a small bowl, a whisk, a fork, and a knife.
Starting with the coating, pour 2 tablespoons of sugar into the small bowl, next add a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and mix together, set aside.
In a big bowl add a stick of butter that has been soften and 3/4 cup of sugar and mix together until it is creamy. Next add in 1 egg and thoroughly combine it. Set aside.
In the other big bowl add 1 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons of flour, add 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/8 teaspoon of salt and blend together.
Next add half of the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix. Then add the last half of the dry to the wet to thoroughly combine. The dough will start to form together.
Next get saran wrap to cover the bowl. You can use you whatever you have. Once it's covered, place it in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 350.
Once the dough has chilled, take a rounded tablespoon worth of dough, and form a ball with your hands.Place the ball in the small bowl, mix around to coat the dough with cinnamon sugar mixture. Place the cookie dough on an un-greased cookie sheet. Continue until your cookie sheet is full. Cover the left over cookie dough and put in the fridge again until you need it again.
Place the cookies in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.
Let the cookies rest for a minute on the cookie sheet before you transfer them to another plate or cookie rack. Let them cool completely.
I hope you enjoyed watching and I hope you make this recipe. Thank you for stopping by.
