Esta receta es típica de Ocaña, norte de Santander en Colombia. En cada casa ocañera tienen su truquito, algunos ponen miga de pan o tostada rallada, en mi caso no lo hago pero en esencia esta es la receta que más nos encanta junto con las Arepas Ocañeras, claro está. 2 - 3 Papas o patatas
2 Tomates
2 Ramas de Cebolla larga o

1 Cebolla blanca o morada
1/2 pimentón rojo
300 ml de Cerveza
60 gr o un tarrito Alcaparras

If you haven't tried Cuban food before, you are missing out on a great cuisine! This is an easy dinner to make in a skillet, along with fried plantains to complete the meal! You have to try this!
INGREDIENTS:
1 large onion, diced small
1 large green pepper, diced small
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
1 pound ground beef, 93%
1 cup spanish stuffed green olives, sliced
1/4-1/2 cup tomato puree or crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup dark raisins
1 tablespoon capers, drained but not rinsed
2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
one jar chopped pimentos for garnishing
FOR PLANTAINS:
2 ripe plantains
3-4 tablespoons canola or neutral oil

2 Dr : Hot Sauce (More to Taste)
1/4 c : Olive Oil
1/4 c : Burgandy Wine
Salt If Needed
1 sm : Onion; Finely Chopped
1 ts : Crushed Oregano
2 tb : Wine Vinegar
1 lg : Ripe Tomato; Peeled, Seeded,
1 ds : Nutmeg
1 : Garlic; Minced
3 oz : Bottled Capers
2 lb : Ground Beef
3 tb : Tomato Sauce
1/2 ts : Brown Sugar
1 : Bay Leaf
1/4 c : Water

Corn meal :
1 cup corn meal
2 cups water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Sazon completa
1 Tbsp olive oil, or butter
Picadillo:
Ingredients
• 1 lb ground beef or turkey
• 2 tablespoons of olive oil
• 1 medium onion, diced
• 5 garlic cloves, finely chopped
• ½ bell pepper, diced
• 1/2 red pepper diced
• 1 tablespoon ground cumin
• 2 small potatoes, peeled and cut in small pieces
• Raisins (optional)
• 1/2 cup dry red or white wine
• ½ cup whole green olives, stuffed w/ pimentos
• 16 ounces of tomato sauce (2 8 oz cans)
• Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a medium-size frying pan, brown the ground beef with a dash of cumin and pepper, drain off any excess grease, and set aside.
2. In a large frying pan, heat 2 tbs of olive oil over med-low heat and cook the diced onion until soft
3. Add the chopped garlic and cook until almost golden.
4. Mix in the bell pepper, cumin, pepper and a little salt – not too much as the olives and capers are salty.
5. Add the potatoes pieces and cook for about 5 minutes.
6. Add the ground beef and the wine, let the liquid reduce.
7. Add tomato sauce when the potatoes are about half-cooked
8. Cook for 5 more minutes and then add the olives
9. Continue cooking over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are ready. If the sauce thickens too much, you can add some more wine or a little bit of water. Taste and adjust any seasonings: salt, pepper, cumin or additional olives.

Picadillo is a personal favorite of what we like to call our Peasant Dishes. Those inexpensive, traditional foods that allow you to feed your family with not a lot of $$. The word picadillo comes from the word picado, meaning “chopped up/minced” because this dish is made with minced meat. It’s the filling for empanadas, rellena de papa, acapurrias, pastelón and canoas de plátano: it’s the starting point of any great party. Ground beef is sautéed with onion, garlic, bell peppers, tomato, capers, olives and lots of spices!
This time, we’re going to lighten it up by serving them with lettuce wraps, for a low-carb/keto spin on this classic dish.

▫️2 TBS olive oil
▫️1 yellow onion
▫️1 red bell pepper
▫️8 cloves garlic
▫️1 tomato
▫️4 oz tomato sauce
▫️1/2 TBS Adobo

▫️3 bay leaves
▫️1 tsp ground cinnamon
▫️1/2 tsp ground cloves
