2 sticks softened butter 1/2 c Crisco 3 c sugar 5 eggs 3 c cake flour 7 oz 7 Up 1 tsp lemon extract 1 tsp vanilla extract
Cream butter, Crisco and sugar together in mixing bowl and beat well until fluffy. To mixture, add one egg at the time alternating with cake flour and 7-Up. Continue to beat well while adding eggs, flour and 7-Up. Add flavorings and beat well. Secret of cake is beating well-cannot overbeat. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes and 300° for 30-35 minutes.
