Roasting Chicory For Coffee
Did you know that chicory root makes a great coffee alternative? Or added to coffee grounds it helps to stretch your coffee just a bit further. You'll recognize the blue flowers of the chicory plant throughout summer, but it is during the fall when it's best to dig the roots. Try to do it after a rain as the roots run deep and can be much easier to pull up. And get ready for your kitchen to smell great while it's roasting! Chicory is caffeine free so enjoy a cup or two!
