How To make Apple Raisin Crumb Pie
1 9 inch unbaked pastry shell
6 md Apples, pared and sliced
1/2 c Raisins
6 tb Sugar
2 tb Flour
1 c Sour cream
1 Egg, beaten
1 ts Vanilla
pn Salt
CRUMB TOPPING:
1/2 c Self rising flour
1/4 c Sugar
1/4 c Brown sugar
1 ts Cinnamon
Sprinkle of nutmeg 1/3 c Butter
Fill unbaked pastry shell with apples and raisins mixed together. Stir sugar and flour together and fold in cream, beaten egg, vanilla and salt. You can substitute fresh cream, but sour is best. Spoon cream mixture over apples and raisins. Bake at 350~ for about 40 minutes, or until pie is golden brown. Combine flour, sugars, cinnamon and nutmeg. Blend in 1/3 cup butter until mixture is crumbly. Spoon crumbs over top of pie and bake 15 minutes more, or until lightly browned. -----

RECIPE:
APPLE PIE BREAD PUDDING
Servings: 6
INGREDIENTS
6 slices bread
3 eggs
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cinnamon
3 granny smith apples, peeled and chopped
1 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
Vanilla ice cream
Caramel sauce
PREPARATION
1. Preheat oven to 350°F/175°C.
2. Slice the bread into ½ inch cubes.
3. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon, stirring until smooth.
4. Add the bread and stir until the bread cubes have evenly absorbed the milk mixture.
5. Spread the bread evenly in a 9-inch round baking pan.
6. In a large bowl, combine the apples, brown sugar, and cornstarch, mixing until evenly combined.
7. Spread the apples evenly on top of the bread.
8. Bake for 40 minutes, until edges are brown.
9. Cool, slice, then serve with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce!

Make This Apple Pie Filling for your Pies & Tarts

Ingredients
10 apples, peered, cored, and sliced
4 oz (114 g) unsalted butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
4 and 1/2 tablespoons (50g) cornstarch
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add all of the remaining filling ingredients except for the cream. Cook the filling until it thickens. The apples should be fork tender. Remove from the heat and add the heavy cream. Mix and set aside to cool completely. The filling can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
If the apples release too much liquid, the filling may take longer to thicken. To prevent the apples from getting mushy, combine a tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of warm water together in a bowl. Whisk tigether and add to the filling. This will help thicken the juices faster. If the filling gets too thick (too much cornstarch), thin it out with some more heavy cream and a splash of water or apple juice.
