There seemed to be a confusion between what is Chow Mein and Lo Mein. This Soy Sauce Noodles with Chicken is definitely Chow Mein. Chow mein is basically stir fried noodles whereas lo mein is cooked noodles tossed in sauce (without heat). Whichever name you're using to call this, it doesn't matter. Just know that this soy sauce noodles with chicken recipe is really easy and fast to recreate :) These noodles taste best when hot so try not to leave them out for too long before serving. How to cook Mee Goreng 马来面 Singapore Fried Noodles /Spicy Seafood Chow Mein -SINGAPORE Chinese Style
Singapore National Day Special
This post was created in celebration of Singapore's 52nd birthday as an independent country.
I love Roland's rendition of this seafood mee goreng. Personally I'm a big fan of mee goreng especially if the gravy tastes like chilli crab. It's like enjoying chilli crab without the mess and of course the price :p. This is another quick fix dinner idea for you and your family.

The Easiest Fried Beehoon / Rice Noodle Recipe Ever 经济米粉 Singapore Chinese Vermicelli • Bihun
I would say this Economic Bee Hoon is the real Singapore Noodles. Contrary to popular belief of non Singapoerans, our stir fried rice noodles are fried without curry powder. This bihun is commonly available at most coffeeshops in Singapore. The stall owners will usually fry the beehoon as is and they offer a wide variety of sides for us to choose from. You can enjoy these noodles with fried luncheon meat, otar, fried egg or fishcake etc. Basically anything that you like. Hope you find this recipe easy. Happy cooking!

Singapore style noodles ???? #shorts #food
Serves: 4
Prep time: 20 min
Cook time: 20 min
Ingredients
- 300g vermicelli rice noodles, soaked in boiling water for 5 mins
- 3 spring onions, sliced into 2cm pieces
- 1 carrot, cut into matchsticks
- 1/4 head wombok, sliced thin
- 4 cloves garlic, finely diced
- 300g cold roast pork (chicken or ham)
- 8 raw prawns (or shrimp), deveined and sliced in half
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp peanut oil
Method
Note - if you don't have a hot burner, remove the ingredients from the wok after each step and let it get back up to temp before moving on to the next step. Once you get to the step with the noodles, you can add everything back in and toss.
1. Heat the peanut oil in a wok or large frying pan over high heat.
2. Add the garlic and stir fry for 15 seconds.
3. Add the beaten egg and stir fry for another 30 seconds.
4. Add the sliced prawns and pork, and stir fry for another minute.
5. Add the spring onion, carrot, and wombok and stir fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.
6. Add the drained noodles, curry powder and soy sauce, and stir fry until the noodles are heated through and coated in curry powder.
7. Serve hot and enjoy!
