How To make Orange Frosted Sour Cream Cookies
2 c Sugar
2 Stick margarine
3 Eggs; beaten
1/2 pt Sour cream
4 c Flour
2 ts Double-acting baking powder
1 ts Baking soda
2 Oranges; juice, rind
3 tb Butter; softened
2/3 Powdered sugar
1 Orange; juice, rind

Cream 2 cups sugar and 2 sticks butter (or margarine). Mix the dry ingredients together. Add the 3 beaten eggs and sour cream, alternately with the dry ingredients, to the butter mixture. Add juice and rind of 2 oranges and blend well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 400-degree oven for 8-10 minutes (check after 6 minutes).
ICING: Mix together last 4 ingredients (3 tbsp margarine, 2/3 box powdered sugar, juice and rind of one orange and milk as needed for good spreading consistency). Spread on cooled cookies. Makes about 24 cookies. -----

Hello to all our Fox Hallow Fam. This week, we've got oranges! Dave shows you how to make Iced Orange Cookies. They're soft and sweet, and they can't be beat. Plus, they're so simple to make for summer or anytime. Check out the recipe below:
Iced Orange Cookies
Cookies:
1½ cups sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs
4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
⅔ cup orange juice
3 Tbsp grated orange peel
Frosting:
¼ cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 Tbsp grated orange peel
2-3 Tbsp orange juice
• Preheat oven to 375°. Prepare cookie sheets with parchment paper.
• Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
• Beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
• Add sour cream, eggs, orange zest and orange juice. Beat until combined.
• Add in the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
• Drop about a rounded tablespoon of batter at a time onto the parchment.
• Bake at 375° for 8-11 minutes, until edges are a light golden brown. Remove from cookie sheets to cool.
• Meanwhile, in a small bowl, blend all the frosting ingredients until smooth. Add enough orange juice to reach the desired consistency.
• Frost the warm cookies.

Lemon lovers rejoice. Soft sour cream cookies with the zest of lemon.
SERVINGS: 3 dozen cookies
INGREDIENTS:
Cookie:
½ cup GAY LEA - Unsalted Butter, softened
1 cup Granulated sugar
1 Egg
¾ cup GAY LEA - Sour Cream (Gold or Regular)
4 tsp Lemon zest, finely grated
1 tbsp Lemon juice
2 ½ cups All-purpose flour
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1/2 tsp Salt
Glaze:
2 tbsp GAY LEA - Unsalted Butter, melted
2 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
1 cup Icing Sugar
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cookie:
Beat butter with sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, sour cream, lemon zest and juice until well combined. Stir flour with baking soda, baking powder and salt. Stir into butter mixture until well combined. Chill for 45 minutes or until firm enough to roll.
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Roll into 1-inch (2.5 cm) balls. Place, 2-inches (5 cm) apart onto parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake, in batches, for 10 minutes or until golden on the bottom. Transfer to a wire rack.
Glaze:
Meanwhile, whisk butter and lemon juice to combine. Gradually whisk in icing sugar until smooth. Dip tops of cookies in glaze; return to rack until completely set.
TIPS:
Store cookies, layered between parchment paper in an airtight container, for up to 3 days or freeze for 1 month.
Replace lemon with orange juice and zest for an orange-scented cookie.
