How To make Norwegian Meatballs in Sauce
Ingredients

beef, ground, extra lean
1/2
pound
pork, ground, extra lean
1
each
egg
1
cup
potatoes, mashed
1/2
cup
milk
2
teaspoon
seasoning salt
1/4
teaspoon
cloves, ground
1/4
teaspoon
allspice
1/4
teaspoon
ginger, ground
1/4
teaspoon
pepper
1/4
teaspoon
nutmeg
1/2
teaspoon
sugar, brown
1
cup
broth, beef
1/2
cup
heavy cream
1/2
cup
parsely, fresh, chopped
Directions:
Throughly combine all ingredients except flour, beef broth, heavy cream and chopped parsley. Blend well and shape into about twenty four 1 1/2 inch meatballs. Roll lightly in flour. Place on rack of broiler pan in preheated 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. Drain.
Before serving, carefully remove meatballs to warm platter. Stir heavy cream into broth in crockpot. Mix until smooth. Pour sauce over meatballs, then sprinkle with the chopped parsley.

Recipe Kjøttkaker i brun saus - Meatballs in a brown gravy (2-3 persons)
Meatballs/Kjøttkaker
400 grams or 14.1 ounces beef minced meat
1 teaspoon salt
0.25 teaspoon pepper
0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons potato flour/starch
0.6 cups water or milk (I used water)
Brown sauce/Brun saus
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons wheat flour
4.25 cups broth (meat broth cube, or real broth)
0.5 teaspoon salt
0.25 teaspoon pepper
Mushy peas/Ertestuing
1 package of frozen peas 400 grams or 14.1 ounces
0.4 cup meat broth ( made with meat broth cube)
1 tablespoon butter
0.25 teaspoon pepper
Use lingonberry jam, but cranberries also work nicely.
Hard boiled potatoes (plenty)

3 tbs sparkling water
1,5 tbs potato flour
3 tbs milk
1 egg
salt and pepper

These are a Christmas tradition!
(Brown) Meatball Sauce
Traditional sauce that goes with the meatballs. My version is a little spicier than a traditional one. I find it perfect with my recipe and the dark spicy sauce is well balanced.
If you want extra flavor I could suggest using some bouillon cubes.
