Recipe down below! I hate seeing people eat plain beans from the can. No seasoning or love put into their beans. Let me help you turn those basic black beans into something you want to eat every day happily! These are my vegan Dominican inspired Black Bean Recipe that I make a weekly part of my meal prep. Hope you enjoy!!!
Recipe ---
2 cans of black beans
3/4- 1 diced green pepper
1/2 of a red onion diced
4 cloves of garlic, diced
1 oriental sweet potato, diced ( sub with regular potato)
1 Tbsp Onion powder
1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
1 Tbsp Adobo
2 packs of Sazon con achiote
1 Tbsp Oregano
Cilantro
1 can of water
Canola Oil
Salt to taste
Directions
In a medium saucepan, pour canola oil to cover the bottom of the pan and pour in the green pepper, red onion, and garlic. Cook until tender and fragrant.
Add canned beans and 1 can of water.
Add the potato, onion powder, garlic powder, adobo, sazon, and oregano.
Boil until the potato is tender and water has reduced in half.
Add a few sprigs of cilantro at the end to bring all the flavors together
Add salt to taste and your done!

Want next-level black beans loaded with island flavor? This easy-peasy recipe is done in 25 minutes or less, and you probably have everything you need to make it in your kitchen right now! Cilantro is not traditional in Cuban black beans, but we love it.
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp neutral oil
1 small onion, finely minced
6 cloves garlic, finely minced
1/3 cup bell pepper, finely minced
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
2 (15-oz) cans of black beans, drained
1 cup water, or more if needed
2 bay leaves
3/4 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp dried oregano
2 tsp red wine vinegar
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
METHOD
1. Add oil to a medium-sized pot on medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper and cook 3-4 minutes.
2. Add beans, bay leaves, cumin, oregano, red wine vinegar, water, salt and black pepper, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for around 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust water and seasoning, to preference. Enjoy!
