How To make Chocolate Applesauce Cake In a Jar
1 c margarine
softened
3 c granulated sugar
4 eggs :
whipped
1 tbsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract
2 c applesauce at room temperature
3 c unbleached flour
3/4 c cocoa powder :
sifted
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
Preheat oven at 325. Place a baking sheet onto middle rack and remove top rack from oven. Before starting batter, wash 8 (1 pint) wide mouth canning jars with lids in hot soapy water and let drain, dry, and cool to room temperature. Generously prepare jars with margarine. In a mixing bowl, combine margarine, sugar, eggs, vanilla, almond extract, and applesauce. In another mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix wet ingredients with dry ingredients just until moistened. Spoon 1 level cupful of batter into each jar. Carefully wipe rims clean, then place jars on baking sheet (or they'll tip over) in the center of oven. Bake 40 minutes. Keep lids in hot water until they're used. When cakes are done, remove jars which are HOT from oven one at a time. If rims need cleaning, use moistened paper towel. Carefully put lids and rings in place, then screw tops on tightly shut. Place jars on a wire rack; they will seal as they cool.

Betty's Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake, Recipe by Lanna Wirch
Betty demonstrates how to make an elegant Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake. This cake contains a yellow cake mix, coconut cream pudding mix, applesauce, crushed Heath bars, semisweet chocolate chips, and pecans. This recipe was sent in by Lanna Wirch. Thank you, Miss Lanna!
Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake
1 box yellow cake mix
1 small package coconut cream pudding mix
½ cup applesauce
½ cup water
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream
¾ cup finely-chopped Heath bar candy bar (or ¾ cup Heath bit-of-brickle)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
In a large mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, instant coconut cream pudding mix, applesauce, water, and eggs. Beat for 2 minutes on medium-high speed. Fold in sour cream, chopped Heath bar pieces, chocolate chips, and chopped pecans. Pour cake batter into well-buttered Bundt cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees (F) until a knife inserted into the deepest part comes out clean, about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Cool cake in pan 15 minutes before removing it.
Topping: Sprinkle confectioner’s sugar on top or drizzle white glaze over the cake after it cools. White glaze: 1 cup confectioner’s sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract, and 2 tablespoons (or more) of milk to make the glaze runny for drizzling.
Note: Cover the cake after it is removed from the pan, so that the moisture stays in while it cools. Keep it covered in a Tupperware dish to maintain that moisture for storage. This cake is best served warm (right out of the oven) or the next day after absorbing all the moisture.
Enjoy! --Betty :) Many thanks to Lanna Wirch, for the great recipe!

APPLESAUCE CAKE | Homemade Caramel Sauce | Fall Baking Recipes
Today I want to show you how to make Applesauce Cake with Homemade Caramel Sauce which even a beginner can do. This delicate and fragrant cake is a great recipe to have for your fall baking.
APPLESAUCE CAKE Printable Recipe –
INGREDIENTS FOR THE CARAMEL SAUCE:
200g sugar
60 ml water
120 ml heavy cream
40g soften butter
½ tsp sea salt (optional)
INGREDIENTS FOR THE CAKE:
360g all-purpose flour
200g sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp pumpkin spice seasoning
2 eggs
320g unsweetened applesauce
110 ml water
100 ml vegetable oil
40 g caramel sauce
Notes:
Remember that when you’re making the caramel sauce do not touch the sugar syrup during the cooking process to prevent sugar from crystallizing on the sides of the pan.
Be very careful when making the caramel sauce.
Keep the caramel sauce refrigerated for up to a month or you can freeze it for up to a few months.
To get the caramel to a runny consistency, bring it to room temperature on the counter or you can reheat it in the microwave or over a water bath.
For the cake batter, instead of the pumpkin spice seasoning, you can use ¼ tsp of ground nutmeg, ¼ tsp of ground cloves and ¼ tsp of ground ginger.
All the ingredients need to be at room temperature.
You can use Bundt cake pan, two 8-inch round layer pans or 13x9x2- inch baking pan greased and floured.
Bake the cake at 350 F degrees for 65-70 minutes, layers for 50-55 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
