How To make Beef, Pepper & Mushroom Kabobs
1 lb Beef sirloin steak
-(boneless), cut 1" thick 1 lg Bell pepper,
-(green, red or yellow bell) -cut into 1 1/4-inch pieces 12 lg Mushrooms
6 oz Long-grain/wild-rice blend
1/4 tsp Salt
-----SEASONING 1 Tb p Fresh lemon juice
1 Tb p Olive oil
1 Tb p Water
2 tsp Dijon-style mustard
1 tsp Honey
1/2 tsp Dried oregano leaves
1/4 tsp Pepper
Trim fat from beef steak; cut into 1 1/4 inch pieces. In large bowl, whisk together seasoning ingredients; add beef, bell pepper and mushrooms, tossing to coat. Alternately thread pieces of beef, bell pepper and mushrooms on each of four 12-inch metal skewers. Prepare rice according to package directions; keep warm. Meanwhile place kabobs on rack in broiler pan so surface of meat is 3 to 4 inches from heat. Broil 9 to 12 minutes for medium- rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally. Season with salt. Serve kabobs with rice.
Cook's tip: To grill, place kabobs on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill kabobs, uncovered, 8 to 11 minutes for medium-rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally; season with salt.

And if you go beyond the Middle East, different cultures have their own twist on it with a variety of marinades, veggies, and meats such as lamb, pork, or chicken. But today I'm highlighting a classic beef shish kabob recipe threaded with chunky steak bites and colorful sliced vegetables.

Honey Teriyaki Beef Kabobs
This simple-to-make recipe doesn't disappoint. Just marinate London broil, green pepper, mushrooms, zucchini, and white onions in Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Teriyaki Sauce and skewer them to perfection. Get the full recipe here:

This recipe for beef steak kabob is easy and doesn't require a marinade. The key with these beef steak kabobs is to use a good quality steak. I like to use a New York Strip Steak.
Here is what you need for these New York Strip Steak Kabobs:
- 2 16oz New York Strip Steaks
- 3 Bell Peppers various colors
- 1 Red Onion
- 1 Medium size Yellow Squash
- 1 Medium size Zucchini Squash
- 16oz Whole Mushrooms
- Salt, Pepper, and Montreal Steak Seasoning to taste
Cut Strip Steaks into 4 equal size portions about 4oz each; trim excess fat from edges. Rinse and paper towel dry peppers, onion, and squash.
Slice peppers and onion into equal size portions about 2” square. Slice Squash cross wise into circle shape portions ½” in width.
Use metal or bamboo soaked skewers for assembling steak kabobs. Skewer vegetables and steak pieces alternating each type.
Brush steak kabobs with olive oil and season with salt, black pepper, and Montreal steak seasoning.
Grill kabobs over medium high heat for 16 minutes turning steak kabobs every 4 minutes. During the last 4 minutes of cooking baste with butter mixture.
Butter Baste for Steak Kabobs
- 1 stick Unsalted Butter
- 3-4 Garlic Cloves minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
Melt butter in microwave for 1 minute. Add salt, black pepper, and parsley. Stir to combine.
Use as baste for steak kabobs and vegetables.
