Chef Blair’s Tips No. 12: Banana Bread & General Baking Tips
These baking tips are bananas! ???? In this video, Chef Blair has tips that aren't just great for baking banana bread, but for baking in general!
Ingredients:
· 2 cups flour
· 1 teaspoon baking soda
· ¼ teaspoon salt
· 1 egg
· 1 cup and Tablespoons granulated sugar
· ½ cup oil (vegetable or canola)
· 2 Tablespoons buttermilk**
· 3 bananas, or 1 cup mashed very well
· Add ins (optional)
o ½ cup chopped, toasted, walnuts
o ½ cup chocolate chips
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
2. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside
3. In a larger bowl, combine egg, sugar, oil and vanilla.
4. Add dry mixture to your wet mixture until fully combined. The batter will be a bit dry and think
5. Add milk and bananas to the batter and mix until incorporated.
6. If adding in other items, add in and mix well.
7. Pour into loaf pans or baking pan, bake for 55 minutes, or until knife comes out clean**
***If you don’t have buttermilk, you can use regular milk
***Check every 5 minutes until it is done. One time an oven took 75 minutes!
