Ann and Dan make Patti's most famous Sawdust Pie
History of Patti's Settlement first published recipe and most popular dessert, Sawdust Pie. Many years ago a young girl came into the restaurant and fell in love with Miss Patti's Strawberry Butter. After much persuasion by the young girl, she and Miss Patti decided to swap recipes, the strawberry butter for an interesting sounding pie. The girl had not named the pie but after Miss Patti went into the kitchen and made it, her boys said it looked like a pile of Sawdust; hence the name was given, Sawdust Pie. Watch as Ann and Dan show how easy it is to make your own Sawdust Pie with Patti's own, Pie in a Jar, sold at Yesterday's Boutique inside the settlement or online at pattis1880s.com
