How To make Oven Fried Apple Pies
MARTHA WHITE'S SOUTHERN SAMP:
2 pk Martha White Pizza Crust Mix
-(6 1/2 oz. ea) 1/2 c Water plus 2 tbsp
1/4 c Butter or margarine, melted
-(1/2 stick) Dried Apple Filling, below Melted butter or margarine Preheat oven to 400. Grease a large baking sheet. Combine pizza crust mix, water, and butter in mixing bowl; stir to blend. Turn dough out onto lightl floured board or pastry cloth; knead gently just until smooth. Divide dough in half. Divide each half into 8 pieces. Spoon 1 heaping tablespoon of filling into center of each circle. Fold top half of circle over bottom half, moistening edges very lightly to seal. Crimp edges with a floured fork. Pierce top of pie with fork several times to vent. Place on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter. Cool slightly before servingfilling will be hot. These are best when served warm. DRIED APPLE FILLING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1 package (6 ounces) dried apples 2 cups water 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg Combine apples, water, and sugar in large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour or until tender. Mash thoroughly. Stir in butter, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg; cool completely. :

OLD SCHOOL FRIED PEACH PIES
This is my recipe for something i grew up on,its simple and so easy
I have a very simple way to make them in only 15 minutes
Here the simple recipe
YOU CAN USE 1 JAR OF OLD SCHOOL PEACH PRESERVES
OR YOU CAN MAKE THIS FILLING:
Recipe( FOR FILLING)
6-8 peaches ( sliced)
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
24 oz pineapple juice or nectar
6 oz butter
1 tablespoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 oz cornstarch ( slurry)
1 package Pillsbury roll out pie dough
Combine all ingredients ( except cornstarch)in pot and bring to a boil
Add cornstarch and let thicken
Simmer for 5 minutes
Cool completely
Cut pie dough into 5 in circles
Add 2 tablespoons of peach mixture in center of circles
Brush dough edges with beaten eggs
Fold over corner to corner and seal with fork
Fry in vegetable oil 15 minutes or until golden brown

Old Fashioned Fried Apple Pies from a Cast Iron skillet...just like the ones Grandma makes!! I'm sharing this recipe from memory by watching both my Grandmothers make these while I was growing up. If you love Apple Pie...this will not disappoint!! Click on Show more before for recipe...
OLD FASHIONED FRIED APPLE PIES from a IRON SKILLET
4-5 cups apples peels, seeded & cubed
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon water
Cook apples, sugar, cinnamon, butter and water together in a large non-stick skillet, over medium-heat, for 15 minutes. Stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Cool completely.
PIE DOUGH
1 1/4 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup all-vegetable shortening
1 egg
1. In a medium mixing bowl add flour. Cut shortening into flour with a fork or a pastry tool.
2. With fork, beat egg into buttermilk.
3. Make a well in the center of flour mixture. Add buttermilk mixture. Using fork...pull dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until blended.
4. Make dough into a large ball...place onto lightly floured surface. Cut dough into 4 equal parts. Cut each quart in half making 8 pieces of dough.
5. Roll each of the eight pieces of dough into 6 circles.
6. Add about 2 tablespoons of cooled apple filling onto each dough circle. Fold dough over apple filling to look like a half moon shape. Lightly dampen edge of inside dough with water to help ends seal. Use fork to seal edges together.
7. In a 12 cast iron skillet...add 3/4 cups vegetable/canola oil. Heat over medium-low heat. Add only two pie at a time to hot oil. Cook 2 minutes on each side or until golden. Drain on cooling racks. Sprinkle with sugar & cinnamon mixture (1 teaspoons cinnamon & 4 teaspoons sugar) immediately after removing pies from oil.
Makes 8 Fried Apple Pies

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Whisk together.
