How To make Chocolate Prune Cake
1 c Pitted prunes cut up
1 ts Baking soda
1 c Boiling water
1 c Butter
1 c Sugar
2 Eggs
1 3/4 c Flour
2 tb Cocoa
Preheat oven to 350 F. Prepare a bundt pan. Sprinkle soda on prunes. Pour boiling water over and allow to cool. Cream butter and sugar in food processor. Add eggs. Add prune mixture and whir about 15 seconds. Add flour sifted with cocoa. Mix till blended with on/off motion. Pour into pan. Bake 45-55 minutes. When cool, turn out. Sprinkle with icing (powdered) sugar if you like. This is a deliciously moist cake. -----

50 ml amaretto

INGREDIENTS
200 gm cake flour
200 gm butter - room temperature
200 gm gula apong ( palm sugar) or just sugar
200 gm dried prune
200 gm dried cranberry
2 medium sized egg - room temperature
2 tsp baking powder
METHOD
1. Cream butter and palm sugar till light and fluffy
2. Add eggs and beat till well combined
3. Separately, mix blended fruit into sieved flour and baking powder
4. Then add half of the fruit mixture into batter and beat till well mixed, finish off with the other half of fruit mixture
5. Pour batter into a 9” x 6” baking pan and steam for 4 hours.
6. Constantly pour boiling water to refill the water in the steamer
7. 4 hours later, take it out of steamer and let it cool for at least 2 hours on a rack before cutting.
The 4 hours of waiting is so so worth it❤️

Here's how you make this old fashioned cake:
For the Cake
1 cup pitted prunes, chopped
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Glaze
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 T. dark corn syrup
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
6 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 and prepare a 13x9 pan.
In a large bowl add together the oil, sugar, and eggs mixing well with a spoon.
Add in the chopped prunes and buttermilk and stir to combine well.
Combine the flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and nutmeg and use a wire whisk to mix well in a separate bowl. Add to the buttermilk mixture and mix well again. Add in the vanilla and mix.
Pour batter into the pan and bake for 45 minutes or until baked through. While cake is baking, combine all the glaze ingredients and bring to a simmer over low heat. Keep warm until cake is done.
Remove pan from oven and poke several times with a fork. Pour warm glaze over the cake and serve.
