Turkey black bean burger with avocado salsa
Ingredients :
1 lb. ground turkey
1 14.5 oz can of black beans
1 tbsp. Chilli powder, 1 tbsp. cumin, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp pepper,
For salsa:
3 avocados (pitted and diced)
¼ red onion
1 cup plum tomatoes diced
1 oz. cilantro
2 tsp lime juice
Directions:
1. Mix all burger ingredients in mixing bowl to form meatloaf like consistency.
2. Form eight- 4 oz patties on a piece of parchment paper to prevent sticking.
3. Place burgers to “set up” in the fridge on bottom shelf overnight (preferably).
4. Prepare salsa after washing area. Toss salsa ingredients in separate mixing bowl.
5. Grill burgers on medium heat approx. 6 minutes on each side to reach internal 165°
6. Place cheese on burgers, top with 2 oz of salsa, and serve on whole grain bun

Ingredients
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 (15-ounce) can black beans, rinsed, drained, and lightly mashed
1/4 cup olive oil
1 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup crushed Wheaties
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 avocado, halved, peeled, pitted, and firmly diced, for serving
Pink Himalayan Salt to taste
Black Pepper to taste
Everyday Seasoning (Trader Joe) to taste
Garlic powder to taste
Onion powder to taste
Directions:
For the burgers: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. In a large bowl, combine the turkey, beans, crushed Wheaties, chili powder, and cumin. Use your hands to form the mixture into 8 equal-sized patties, working in batches if necessary. Cook the patties until no longer pink in the middle, 4 to 5 minutes per side. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer the patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
Top with salsa, Sweet chili sauce, or your favorite sauce. Also top with lettuce, tomatoes, onions......etc. Just have fun and enjoy a healthy burger!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Top with avocado slices.
Easy Turkey Burger Recipe w/ Healthy Heels

Nadia’s Turkey Burger Recipe (yields 6-8 burgers)
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 2 tbsp bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 2-3 tbsp milk or milk alternative
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tbsp cooking oil or cooking spray
- All the burger fixins’ (ie. buns, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, etc.)
Optional:
- 1 small onion finely diced
- 1 bell pepper or 7-8 sweet peppers finely diced
- Crushed red pepper flakes
- Cajun seasoning
*Be sure to wash your hands when handling raw meat*
1. Mix the ground turkey bread crumbs, egg, milk, (onions, peppers,) and seasonings.
2. Coat pan with cooking oil.
3. Cook the patties in a medium skillet over medium heat, turning once, to an internal temperature of 180 degrees F. 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown (or just very very brown :).
4. Enjoy!
