The trick is to bake canned black beans in the oven to dehydrate them before chopping them and incorporating them into a vegetarian patty flavored with onions, chiles, chipotle peppers, and cotija cheese. cashews add more texture. They're delicious, even if you aren't normally a veggie-burger person.

Ingredients:
For Patty preparations:
1) Red beans (Rajma) - 1 cup [overnight soaked & soft boiled]
2) Potato - 1 large (boiled & peeled)
3) Fresh Coriander - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
4) Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
5) Salt - as per taste
6) Chilli flakes - 1 to 2 tsp
7) Oregano - 1 tsp
8) Jeera powder - 1 tsp
9) Corn flour - 1 tbsp
10) Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp (any vegetable oil)
For Salsa preparations:
1) Tomatoes - 2
2) Onions (diced) - 2 tbsp
3) Garlic (whole) - 4 to 5
4) Dry whole red chilli - 1
5) Capsicum (diced) - 1 tbsp
For assembling burger:
1) Capsicum - few roundels
2) Onions - few roundels
3) Prepared Salsa
4) Tomato ketchup - 2 tbsp
5) Cheese slice - 1
6) Mayonnaise - as needed
7) Prepared Patty
8) Oregano - a pinch
Tips n Tricks:
1) You can use the store bought Mexican salsa.
2) Spice can be added or reduced according to your taste.
3) Patty can also be used for a bread sandwich.

Makes 7 burgers
Ingredients:
For the burger:
1/2 Onion, chopped
2-4 cloves Garlic, minced
2 cans (g) Black/red beans
1/2 cup (45g) Oats/bread crumbs
1 carrot, grated
1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
1 teaspoons Cumin
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
For assembly:
Hamburger buns
Lettuce
Tomato
Red onion
For serving:
Fries
Directions:
1. Strain the beans, then rinse under cold water. Shake well to get rid of excess water. Transfer to a large bowl and mash using a fork or a potato masher. Set aside.
2. In a pan, heat 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil, add chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes, add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.
3. Add the onion and garlic the bowl with the beans.
4. Finely grate the carrot into the bowl.
5. Add quick oats/oat flour/bread crumbs. Add the spices. Mix well. Form burger patties.
6. Heat a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat. lightly grease the pan with cooking spray. Cook the burger for 3-4 minutes on each side.
7. Assemble the burger as desired.
8. Serve with homemade French fries.

Vegan Black Bean Burgers | High Protein & Delicious | Bit Healthier
This is my favorite veggie burger. The taste is amazing, and the texture is even better. It is simple to make and packed with nutrients, fiber, and plant protein!
1 tbsp of oil or spray
1-15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 medium onion, diced
1/2 big or one medium red or green bell pepper, diced
1 small carrot, peeled and grated
Salt and black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder
1 large of spinach, chopped
1/4 cup rolled oats
2 tsp tomato paste
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
Burger assembly:
Grilled Buns
Lettuce leaves
Tomato, sliced
Avocado, sliced
Crispy Onions
Cheese
Hummus, hot sauce
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°. Arrange black beans on a baking sheet and roast for about 10 minutes to remove some of the moisture.
2. In a large pan, sauté the onion, pepper, and carrots over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper and cook for 5-8 minutes.
3. Add garlic and spices and cook for 1 minute, then add spinach and cook only until it wilts.
4. Place the rolled oats in the bowl of a food processor and process until the oats are finely ground. Add the sautéed vegetables, black beans, tomato paste, and nutritional yeast to the food processor. Pulse until the mixture begins to hold together but still has some larger pieces of beans and vegetables for texture.
5. Form burgers into patties using 1/3 or 1/2 cup measurer for bigger burgers. Place on a silicone or parchment-lined baking sheet and flatten slightly to about 1 ½ inch thick.
6. Bake for 15 minutes. Flip burgers and bake for an additional 10 minutes. If you use cheese, add it after you flip burgers so it melts perfectly.
Enjoy burgers on a toasted bun topped with lettuce, sliced tomatoes, avocado, and onion and drizzled with hummus or hot sauce.
