Mini Red Bean Pastry ● Homemade Recipe
Ingredients:
300g All-purpose flour
40g Custard Powder
80g Icing Sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon Vanilla powder/essence
¼ teaspoon salt
1 egg (lightly beaten)
150g butter
Egg glaze:
1 egg
1 teaspoon milk
Steps:
Sift Flour, Custard power, baking powder and vanilla powder in a large mixing bowl
Sift Icing Sugar and mix well
Rub in the butter till the mixture looks like breadcrumbs
Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture
Add the lightly beaten egg
Continue to mix until it forms a soft dough (about 2-3 mins)
Cover and rest for 20 minutes
Divide the red bean paste into 25g each and roll into balls
Divide the dough into 30g each and roll into balls
Flatten the dough and place the red bean paste at the middle
Wrap in the filling.
Decorate with some almond flakes or sesame seeds
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 deg. Celsius for 10 minutes
Take them out and rest for 5 minutes
Beat 1 egg with 1 teaspoon of milk. Brush on each one.
Continue to bake for another 30 to 35 minutes

Calico Bean Bake
Today I'm sharing a fantastic side dish for your summertime cookouts that doubles as an easy weeknight dinner--my mom's Calico Bean Bake.

Calico Bean Bake recipe
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. ketchup
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. white sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 can baked beans
1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can butterbeans, drained and rinsed
1 can stewed tomatoes
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
In a large nonstick skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain any excess grease. Mix all of the ingredients except the bacon into the cooked ground beef. Bake at 350* for about 45 minutes. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon overtop. ENJOY!
