Goan peas pulao is a delicious and fragrant rice dish that hails from the coastal Indian state of Goa. This dish is typically made with basmati rice, green peas, and a blend of aromatic spices and herbs.
To prepare Goan peas pulao, the rice is first rinsed and soaked in water for a few minutes. Then, a mixture of sliced onions, ginger, garlic, and green chilies is sautéed in a pot with some oil or ghee until the onions are translucent. Next, a selection of whole spices like cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom pods are added to the pot and cooked for a few minutes to release their flavors.
Once the spices are fragrant, the green peas are added to the pot and sautéed for a few minutes until they are lightly browned. The soaked rice is then added to the pot along with some water, salt, and a handful of fresh coriander leaves. The mixture is brought to a boil, then covered and simmered until the rice is fully cooked and fluffy.
The resulting dish is a fragrant and flavorful rice pilaf with tender green peas studded throughout. It can be enjoyed on its own as a vegetarian main dish or paired with a variety of Indian curries and side dishes. Overall, Goan peas pulao is a delicious and satisfying dish that is sure to impress any fan of Indian cuisine.
This Recipe Serves - 4 People.
Ingredients & Quantity
Long-grained rice (Basmati) - 500 gms (2 Cups)
Onions (Peeled & Chopped) - 4 Nos
Tomatoes (Deseeded & Chopped) - 2 Nos
Green Peas - 1/4 Kg
Ginger - Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Vegetable stock cubes - 3 Nos
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Vegetable oil or Clarified Butter (Ghee) - 4 Tbsp
Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
Cloves - 10 Nos
Black peppercorns - 8 Nos
Cardamon - 5 Nos
Bay leaves - 2 Nos
Hot water - 4 Cups
Method,
1) Chop the onions, tomatoes and peel the green peas and keep aside.
2) Soak the basmati rice in water for 15 mins.
3) Heat oil in vessel, once the oil is hot enough add all the whole spices and fry for 30 secs.
4) Add the chopped onions and sauté till light golden in color.
5) Add the Ginger - Garlic Paste and fry for 30 secs.
6) Add the chopped tomatoes and fry till mushy, then add the green peas and give a quick mix.
7) Add the washed and drained rice and fry for a minute.
8) Now add the hot water and double the quantity of rice, along with turmeric powder & Vegetable stock cubes, and mix well. Check for taste and accordingly add salt.
8) Cover the lid and cook for 10 - 15 minutes on medium heat till all the water evaporates.
9) Open the lid and mix the rice carefully without breaking the grains.
10) Serve with Chicken Vindaloo and salad, happy Cooking!

Jaipuri Pulao
Ingredients-
2 cups of boiled rice
1 cup boiled mix vegs
1 tbsp cashewnut pieces
1 tbsp rasins
Coriander leaves
salt to taste
3 paneer cubes
1 tbsp butter
For seasoning: 2 cardamons, 1 cinnamon stick, 4 peppercorns, 2 cloves, 1 bay leaf
For masala paste:
1 small onion,
2 green chilies,
1/2 ginger piece,
1 tbsp cashew nuts,
1 tsp coriander and cumin seed powder, 1 tbsp cream
Grind all the ingredients into a smooth paste.

Healthy Green Pulao l How to make Green Pulao? l Green rice I Pulao #pulao#quick#Healthy
This is a special recipe for the health conscious people. This is not only enriched with nutritions but also very rich in taste. In our family, we make this recipe regularly for dinner or for office or school lunch boxes.
Serving 3 to 4 people
cooking time 20 to 25 minutes (depends upon speed)
Ingredients and tips:
1 cup Basmati Rice (boil it. DON'T over cook Rice)
1/4 cup Green Peas
1/4 cup Corn (I'm using frozen)
1/4 cup Cashew (salted or unsalted)
1/4 cup Boiled Chickpeas (I'm using a ready can of Garbanzo beans/Chickpeas)
1/4 cup of Paneer. Cut paneer in cubes (you can get it in any indian store)
1/4 cup Bell pepper cut it in thin slices
You can also add here some boiled Peanuts if you want .
Puree:
1 small packet of Spinach (I'm using 5 oz box/ 150 gram )
1 small size lemon
1 small size Ginger
2 green long chilli
5-6 Mint leaves
1 cup or required water
Blend everything
Spices: All spices are available at any Indian store or Amazon.com
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp Turmeric
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
4 - pieces of Clove
1 1/2 tsp Salt (or as per taste)
2 tsp Sugar
1/2 tsp Black Pepper powder
1/2 tsp red chilly powder
1/2 Cumin powder
1/8 th cup Corn or any edible oil
Method:
In a deep cooking pan, add oil and add Mustard seeds. When starting poping, add Cumin seeds,Turmeric powder, Cinnamon powder and Cloves.
Add Green peas, Corn, Paneer cubes, Chickpeas and sliced Bell pepper and Cashew. Saute everything well for 2-3 minutes.
Add Green puree, add the rest of the spices (watch in the video)
Finally add Cooked Rice and mix everything nicely and cook for 3 to 4 minutes then it will be ready!
Now serve it with Yogurt.
Notes :
Do not over cook your rice
Since I have used frozen green peas and corn, I did not boiled them
I am using canned Chickpeas. These ingredients have saved my time.

Ingredients:
-Safed lobia (Black eyed beans) soaked 1 & ½ Cup
-Water as required
-Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste
-Ghee (Clarified butter) ½ Cup
-Darchini (Cinnamon sticks) 2
-Laung (Cloves) 4-5
-Badi elaichi (Black cardamom) 1
-Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1 tsp
-Tez patta (Bay leaf) 1
-Pyaz (Onion) sliced 2 medium
-Tamatar (Tomatoes) chopped 3 medium
-Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 & ½ tbs
-Hari mirch (Green chilli) crushed 1 & ½ tbs
-Namak (Salt) 1 & ½ tsp or to taste
-Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) 1 & ½ tsp or to taste
-Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) 1 tsp
-Dhania powder (Coriander powder) 1 tsp
-Garam masala powder ½ tsp
-Jaifil powder (Nutmeg powder) ¼ tsp
-Javitri powder (Mace powder) ¼ tsp
-Dahi (Yogurt) whisked 1 Cup
-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped handful
-Podina (Mint leaves) chopped handful
-Lemon slices 3-4
-Hari mirch (Green chillies) 2
-Chawal (Rice) sella 500g (boiled with salt,cumin seeds & mint leaves)
-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped 1 tbs
-Podina (Mint leaves) chopped 1 tbs
-Zarda ka rang (Orange food color) ½ tsp or as required
-Lemon slices 3-4
-Hari mirch (Green chillies) 3
-Kewra essence few drops
-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped
Directions:
-In a wok,add black eyes beans,water,salt & mix well,bring it to boil & remove scum,cover & cook on low flame until 80% done (9-10 minutes).
-Take out ¾ cup of black-eyed beans water & reserve for later use then strain black eyed beans & set aside.
-In a pot,add clarified butter & let it melt.
-Add cinnamon sticks,cloves,black cardamom,cumin seeds,bay leaf & mix well.
-Add onion & fry until light golden.
-Add tomatoes,ginger garlic paste,green chilli & mix well.
-Add salt,red chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder,garam masala powder,nutmeg powder,mace powder,mix well & cook on medium flame for 1-2 minutes.
-Add yogurt,mix well & cook for 2-3 minutes.
-Add boiled black eyed beans & mix well.
-Add reserved beans water,mix well & bring it to boil.
-Add fresh coriander,mint leaves,lemon slices,green chillies,boiled rice,fresh coriander,mint leaves,orange food color,lemon slices,green chillies,kewra essence,cover with kitchen cloth & lid and turn flame to high to build up steam (3-4 minutes) then lower the flame & steam cook for 12-15 minutes.
-Garnish with fresh coriander & serve!

-Karahi mein safed lobia,pani aur namak dal ker ache tarhan mix karein aur ubal anay ka bad scum ko remove ker lein aur dhak ker halki ancch per 80% done ho janay tak paka lein (9-10 minutes).
-3/4 cup black eyed beans water ko nikal lein & bad mein use kernay kliya side per rakh dein.
-Pot mein ghee dal ker melt ker lein.
-Darchini,laung,badi elaichi,zeera aur tez patta dal ker ache tarhan mix karein.
-Pyaz dal dein aur light golden ho janay tak fry ker lein.
-Tamatar,adrak lehsan paste aur hari mirch dal ker ache tarhan mix karein.
-Namak,lal mirch powder,haldi powder,dhania powder,garam masala powder,jaifil powder & javitri powder dal ker ache tarhan mix karein aur darmiyani ancch per 1-2 minutes kliya paka lein.
-Dahi dal ker ache tarhan mix karein aur 2-3 minutes kliya paka lein.
-Boiled black eyed beans dal ker ache tarhan mix karein.
-Reserved beans water dal dein aur ubal anay dein.
-Hara dhania,podina,lemon slices,hari mirchien,boiled chawal,hara dhania,podina,zarda ka rang,lemon slices,hari mirchein aur kewra essence dal dein,kitchen cloth & lid sa cover ker lein aur tez ancch ker ka steam build up ker lein (3-4 minutes) phir halki ancch ker ka 12-15 minutes kliya steam cook ker lein.
-Hara dhania sa garnish ker ka serve karein!
