Chocolate Chip Rocky Road Dessert Pizza Recipe
With the holidays upon us, many individuals and families are searching for just the right type of recipe to make something everyone will want to taste. Making dessert pizza recipes might be just what you need, especially when you have several people to serve. Making dessert pizzas is a lot of fun and everyone can help make them. You can use them as they are or you can adapt a recipe to suit your sense of cravings.
Pizza Recipes are Not All Savory, Make a Sweet Treat Dessert Pizza
Although, many people are only use to making and eating savory pizzas, not all pizzas are made the same. For instance, if you are having a large family gathering, a houseful of visitors or slumber party guests, you might want to make a sweet treat dessert pizza. When you make a large dessert pizza, you should have plenty for everyone. However, if you are serving a large crowd, you might consider making two of the same kind of dessert pizzas or you may want to make two different types to enjoy. It really all depends on your particular needs and the amount of people you are serving.
Recipe for Chocolate Chip Rocky Road Dessert Pizza
What You Need
• 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup softened butter or margarine
• 2 eggs
• ¾ cup sugar
• ¾ cups packed brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
• 1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips 12 ounce
How to Make It
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Prepare a 14 inch round pizza pan by spraying with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Using a medium size mixing bowl add the flour, baking soda and salt, mix thoroughly and then set aside until needed.
Using another mixing bowl you will add the butter and sugar and then cream together well. Add eggs and vanilla and continue beating until mixed well. Mix in the chocolate chips and nuts until thoroughly blended.
Add this mixture into the dry flour mixture and combine thoroughly. Press this mixture onto the prepared 14 inch pizza pan. Place in preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes.
While crust is baking, you can prepare the pizza topping.
Recipe for Chocolate Chip Rocky Road Dessert Pizza Topping
What You Need
• 1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips
• 1 cup miniature marshmallows
• 1 cup crushed walnuts or pecans
How to Make It
Combine the chocolate chips, marshmallows, and nuts in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
Remove pizza from hot oven and then immediately begin sprinkling the topping on the cookie pizza crust. Allow at least 5 minutes before swirling the topping with a spatula or butter knife to provide a nice mixing of topping ingredients as well as making the pizza look festive and decorative. Allow the dessert pizza to cool completely and then cut it into wedges for serving.

Easy Rocky Road Pizza Cookie/ Giant Marshmallow Cookie Recipe
Ingredients for the pizza base:
125g soft butter
1 egg
1/3 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1tsp vanilla essence
1 1/2 cup self raising flour
Ingredients for the topping:
1 cup peanuts
1 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1 cup marshmallows
3 small milky ways (thinly sliced) (or your favourite chocolate bar thinly sliced)
1/4 cup white chocolate buttons
1/4 cup glace cherries
Method:
Pre heat oven at 160 degrees fanforced or 190 degrees
Add butter and two sugars (brown sugar and caster sugar) to a bowl
Beat with electric mixer until nice and creamy
Add the egg and beat until combined
Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula
Add self raising flour
Add vanilla essence and mix to combine
Then use your fingers to make sure everything is incorporated well
Spray a pizza tray with baking oil (if you dont have a pizza tray, just use any baking tray)
Take the whole dough and put on a pizza tray and spread it evenly to the edge of the tray
Use a plastic wrap to make sure the base is nice and even
Put it in the oven for 15 minutes
Now you can add the topping
Sprinkle 2/3 of the dark chocolate chips on the base of the pizza
Next sprinkle the peanuts, milky way, marshmallows, glace cherries and the white chocolate buttons
Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips all over
Put it back in the oven for a further 5 to 8 minutes until the chocolate has melted
Enjoy it hot or cold
Tips:
Leftover rocky road pizza can be stored in a seal container in the fridge for up to a week.

ROCKY ROAD BARS RECIPE
(makes 12 bars)
7oz dark chocolate (200g)
1/3 cup natural peanut butter (85g)
1/4 cup date paste (75g)
1/2 cup almonds (80g)
1/2 cup walnuts (60g)
1 cup puffed rice (30g)
1/4 cup dried cranberries (35g)
NUTRITIONAL INFO (per bar):
199 calories, fat 12.7g, carb 21.1g, protein 4.7g
Instructions:
Soak the dates in hot water for 10 minutes, then process for 1-2 minutes until a smooth paste is formed. Alternatively, blend in a food processor if using fresh dates.
Toast the almonds and walnuts in a skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until lightly golden and aromatic.
In a microwave-safe bowl, add the dark chocolate and melt it in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until smooth and creamy.
Add the natural peanut butter and sweet date paste to the melted chocolate. Stir well with a spoon until fully combined.
Fold in the toasted almonds, walnuts, puffed rice, and dried cranberries. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly coated in the sticky mixture.
Line an 8-inch (20cm) brownie pan with parchment paper. Spoon the mixture into the pan and spread it evenly with a spoon or spatula. Press firmly to pack all the ingredients together.
Allow the mixture to cool completely. Then, transfer the pan to the freezer for about 1 hour or until the chocolate is fully set.
Once set, remove the pan from the freezer and place it on a cutting board. Slice the chilled mixture into 12 equal pieces using a sharp knife.
For the best crunchy texture, store the healthy rocky road bars in the refrigerator.
