Add the lemon juice and garlic. Process briefly, until the garbanzos are slightly chopped. Add the onion and the avocado, if desired. Process again until the mixture is chunky. Place the mixture in a bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Mix well. Cover and chill before serving. 205 calories, 3.2 grams fat per 1/2 cup serving. This is a lower-fat version of the traditional guacamole. Because of the small amount of avocado used, however, it still contains some fat. To reduce the amount of fat, eliminate the avocado. Chickpea, Guacamole and Hummus Salad
This is a Chickpea, Guacamole and Hummus salad. It is a great sharing dish to enjoy with friends and family. I have added red pepper and red onion to mine but you can add what you like. I often add diced tomato and Avocado but feel free to experiment.
Avocado Hummus
The 2nd best avocado dip in this world... first is Guac - OF COURSE!
PREPARATION 1. In a bowl, add 250 grams chickpeas, 750 milliliters water and soak for 6-7 hours. 2. Take a pressure cooker, add soaked chickpeas, 1 litre water, 1 teaspoon salt and cover it with lid. 3. Cook until you hear 2-3 whistles. 4. Open the lid and remove it from heat. 5. In a blender, add 220 grams avocado, 90 grams onions, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper and blend it well. 6. In a mixing bowl, add boiled chickpeas and mash them with the help of a food masher. 7. Now, add the blended mixture, 100 grams tomato, 1 tablespoon jalapeno, 2 tablespoons coriander and mix it well. 8. Take a bread slice and add some prepared stuffing on it and spread it evenly. 9. Cover it with another slice of bread. 10. Cut it into half. 11. Serve.
