How To make Flank Steak In Mushroom Sauce
1 flank steak
(1 to 1 1/2 lb.)
1/4 cup Sauterne wine
1 tablespoon Soy sauce
1 Clove garlic :
minced
1 can beef broth (10 1/2 oz.)
1 tablespoon Catsup
1 teaspoon Prepared mustard
1 tablespoon Instant minced onion
2 tablespoons Cornstarch
2 tablespoons Water
1/4 pound Fresh mushrooms :
sliced
Place steak in crockpot. Combine wine, soy sauce, garlic, broth, catsup, mustard and onion; pour over steak. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Dissolve cornstarch in water; stir into pot. Add mushrooms. Turn to high; cover and cook on high 20 to 30 minutes. From Crockery Cookery by Mable Hoffman.

It's one of my favourite weekend dinners, and it's made even better with the addition of one of these delicious sauces (ok, one is a garlic butter, but that works fab too!).
Most of these sauces can be made while your steak is resting, so your steak will be perfectly rested and ready to serve when that sauce is ready.

1/2 kilo Beef (Sirloin), sliced
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
5 cloves, Garlic, chopped
1 medium Onion, chopped
1 and 1/2 cup Beef Stock
1 small can Mushroom Sliced
half of 250ml All Purpose Cream
1/2 cup Water
1 tsp Cornstarch diluted in 1/4 cup water

1 teaspoon freshly ground black peppercorns
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 lemon (zest and juice)

3 sprigs of green onions, chopped (white part only)
Pinch of red paper flakes
½ teaspoon pink salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black peppercorns
1-2 tablespoons olive oil
½ cup white wine
2-3 cloves garlic, chopped
