►3 cups all-purpose flour
►1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
►2 cups granulated sugar
►2 tsp baking soda
►1 tsp salt
►2 cups warm coffee (not hot)
►2 Tbsp white vinegar
►1 Tbsp vanilla extract
►2/3 cup light olive oil (not extra virgin)

TEXAS PECAN CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Grease & flour a 12 x 17 baking sheet, set aside
CAKE BATTER
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 Tablespoons unsweetened Cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup butter milk
2 eggs, beaten (leave out the eggs for a more like Fudge Brownies)
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour & sugar. Set aside.
2. In a sauce pan, over medium-heat, add butter, oil, coco & water. Bring to a gentle boil, remove from heat. Pour over sugar & flour mixture. Whisk until all ingredients are well blended.
3. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking powder, soda, & vanilla. Whisk well. Pour into prepare baking sheet.
4. Bake 30 minutes. Last 10 minutes of baking prepare frosting.
FROSTING
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1/4 cup unsweetened Cocoa
6 Tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 3/4 cups powdered suger (1 pound box)
1 cup pecans
1. In a medium sauce pan, over medium-heat, melt butter. Whisk in milk & coco. Bring to a gentle boil. Remove from heat.
2. Whisk in powdered sugar & vanilla. Stir in pecans.
3. Remove cake/brownies from oven. Immediately pour frosting over hot cake/brownies. Let cool on baking rack.
4. Cut into 3 by 3 squares.
Serves 24

The BEST Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake DeSSERT Recipe for a CROWD!
How can you go wrong with Chocolate Texas sheet cake that asks for 4 sticks of butter? This is a dessert recipe for a crowd or for the you alone. It is easily frozen and delicious to eat frozen too! The chocolate frosting is absolutely delicious and a must with this Sheet Cake.
This cake does not disappoint. And the story behind it does not either.....
This recipe comes from a church fundraiser cookbook from 1978. My mom tried the recipe and said it was terrible. She scribbled out the page. Then her sister came over and they started discussing the new cookbook. My mom told her that the cake was not any good. My Aunt told her that an important ingredient was left out. Baking Soda! She proceeded to write my mom a little note on the cookbook to tell her it was a good recipe and to just add soda. See below to see the actual recipe from the cookbook. (my mom changed the name)
Printable Recipe
Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake
2 teaspoons soda 4 1/2 T cocoa powder
3 cups flour 3 eggs well beaten
3 cups sugar 3/4 cup buttermilk (or 1 T vinegar and 3/4 cup milk)
1 t salt 3 t vanilla (my mom always doubles the vanilla)
3 sticks butter
1 1/2 cups water
Mix flour, sugar, soda and salt in bowl. Bring to boil butter, water, and cocoa powder. Pour hot mixture into flour mixture and stir well. Pour well beaten eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla into batter. Pour into well greased cookie sheet and bake at 350* for 25 mins.
While your cake is cooking make your frosting.
Frosting
Bring to boil
1 stick butter, 4 T Cocoa, and 1/3 cup milk. (remove from heat) Add 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 2 t vanilla, and 1 cup chopped nuts. (pecans or walnuts)
when cake is done, pour frosting over HOT cake. Serve immediately or when cooled.

Chocolate cake- easy chocolate sheet cake recipe
Ingredients:
Dry ingredients
250 g all purpose flour
42.5 g cocoa powder
1 tsp bakingpowder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
150 grams brown sugar
150 castor sugar
Wet ingredients
2 large eggs
60 ml vegetable oil
114 g unsalted butter
125 ml yogurt
85 ml boiling water
60 ml milk
1 tsp coffee
1 tsp vanilla
Method:
Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients. Pour into a 9inch square tin and bake for 35 minutes or depending on your oven. Cool cake down, and frost using our chocolate ganache recipe. Which is available on another episode via youtube too! Good luck! ❤️
