How To make Baked Doughnut Puffs
2 Tablespoons shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
sifted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter :
melted
Cream shortening, sugar & egg until light and fluffy. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and nutmeg. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Mix well to a stiff dough. stir in nuts. Drop by tablespoon into well greased small size muffin pan cups. Bake at 400

Baked doughnut puffs with spelt flour are a fun breakfast treat. Imagine the texture of a cake with the flavour of a doughnut. How quick are they to make? Only 10 minutes to prepare and 12 minutes to bake. Most of the ingredients for my baked doughnut puff recipe you will already have on hand. The doughnut puffs can be made with your choice of flour. If you wanted to use self-raising flour omit the baking powder. Happy baking. Best eaten warm. This recipe was inspired by Doughnut Puffs by Donna Hay and LandOLakes.
What is the best Muffin Tin Size?
These puffs are like muffins. I made mine in a standard muffin tin (as that's all I have), which fills 60ml, 1/4-1/3 cup of batter then I made 12 doughnut puffs.
Or if you have a mini muffin tray which is 30ml, then add 1 to 2 tablespoons of batter, then you will get 24 puffs.
Takes = 10 minutes prep.
Bakes = 12 minutes
Makes = 12 or 24

Easiest Toogbei/Bofrot/Puff Puff Recipe
Ingredients:
Dry Ingredients
4cups - All Purpose Flour
1cup - Sugar
1tsp - Nutmeg
1 1/4tsp - Salt
Wet Ingredients
3/4cup - Water
To Activate Yeast
1tbsp - Sugar
2tsp - Yeast
1cup - Warm Water
Chocolate Stuffed Puff Pastry Doughnuts
Ingredients:
For the Cronuts:
3 rolls of puff pastry
¼ cup butter, melted
3 cups oil, for frying
For the Ganache Filling:
¾ cup fresh heavy cream
2 slabs Nestlé Milk Aero, broken into small pieces
To finish the Cronuts:
2 slabs Nestlé Milk Aero, broken into cubes
1 slab Nestlé Mint Aero, crushed into chunks
Melted Milkybar
Rolo chocolate chopped into chunks
Caramel treat, melted
Recipe:
For the Cronuts:
1. Lay out the first sheet of puff pastry. Brush one entire side with melted butter then lay the next layer on top, paint with butter and repeat with the third layer.
2. Punch out 9 circles with a large glass. Punch the centres out with a smaller cutter/ shot glass or the nozzle from your piping bag.
3. Over a medium to high heat, heat the oil in a pot. To test if the oil is hot enough, dip the bottom of a wooden spoon in the oil. If the oil starts steady bubbling around it, the oil is ready.
4. Fry the cronuts, 2 at a time, for 4-5 minutes before turning over. Fry the other side for another 2 minutes until golden and puffed. Drain on paper towel and allow to cool.
For the Ganache Filling:
1. Over a double boiler on the stove, warm the cream for 2 minutes.
2. Add the Aero pieces to the cream and stir until completely smooth and melted.
3. Add the thick ganache to a piping bag with a medium nozzle.
4. Allow to cool and thicken slightly for about 10 minutes (take care for it not to set completely).
5. Insert the nozzle of the piping bag into the side of your cronut at a slight angle and squeeze gently to fill. Repeat on the opposite side.
Serving suggestions:
1. In the microwave, melt the Milk Aero in 15 second intervals.
2. Dip the top of each cronut in the melted milk chocolate and coat generously with the listed toppings and ENJOY!
HOW TO MAKE THE EASIEST Mini Donut Puffs!!
Mini Donut puffs
1 cup pancake mix
½ cup plus 4 tbs milk
next both of the ingredients together, and just place the mixture in a hot pan with oil.
So simple!
