16 tb Butter or margarine
2 pk Cream cheese
2 c Flour; sifted
Apricot filling Apricot filling: 8 oz Dried apricots
2 c Cold water
1/2 c Sugar
1 ts Lemon juice
1 ds Cinnamon
1 tb Butter
APRICOT FILLING: Cook apricots in water until almost tender, stirring occasionally. Add sugar and lemon juice. add the dash of cinnamon, continue cooking until thickened and tender. Remove from heat and add butter. cool. If you prefer a sweeter filling, you may add more sugar. COOKIE; Cream cheese and margarine together, add flour slowly until a smooth dough is formed. Use a wooden spoon to cream and not a mixer. Chill dough 10-15 minutes. Roll out on a floured board to a thin layer, cut in circles and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Use a small amount of apricots on half the circles to within 1/4" of the edge. Fold circles over and press edges together with a fork. Bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes. It will be a very pale golden brown. When cool, ice with powdered sugar icing. These are delightful with hot tea. canned red beans - 50 g (1.76 oz)
canned corn - 50 g (1.76 oz)
sour cream - 40 g (1.4 oz)
salt - 10 g (0.35 oz)
black pepper - 5 g (0.18 oz)
sweet paprika - 5 g (0.18 oz)
olive oil - 20 ml (0.7 fl oz)
pressed cheese - 80 g (2.82 oz)
cherry tomatoes - 4 pieces
IN THE OVEN 180°C (356 °F)/25 MIN

Recipe:
•Cut the puff pastry sheet into equal sized squares (keep covered with cloth when not using so pastry sheet doesn’t dry).
•Cut the edges of each square sheet as shown above, leaving two sides attached at the tip. Bring two sides across each other as in the video.
•Brush sided with egg wash & poke the center using fork. Sprinkle sides with brown coarse sugar.
•Bake at 400F for about 10 mins or until golden brown.
For the custard filling:
•In a saucepan pan whisk 3 egg yolks, 1/2 cup sugar & 1/3 cup of cornstarch. Whisk until fluffy, gradually add 2 cups of hot milk as you whisk. Add in 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
•Place pan over medium heat & continue whisking until it reaches a slow boil. Keep whisking making sure there are no lumps and it doesn’t stick to the pan.
•Lower the flame and cook for a few more minutes until you reach desired consistency.
•Pour custard cream in glass bowl & cover with plastic until it cools.
Fill the inside of the puff pastry with custard, top with a spoon of apricot / strawberry jam & some berries. Add some almond slices & sprinkled powdered sugar (optional).

Braided Apricot Puff Pastry
This is so delicious.
This is an easy recipe using frozen puff pastry dough. Thaw the puff pastry dough in the refrigerator for a few hours before making this treat.
Ingredients:
1 box (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry dough
3/4 cup apricot preserves
1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp all-purpose flour or cornstarch
1 large egg, beaten
2-4 tbsp crystal sugar for topping
Method:
1. In a mixer bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
2. Add 2 tbsp of the beaten egg. Keep the rest for brushing. Mix well until creamy. Set aside in the fridge.
3. Unfold a sheet of thawed puff pastry dough on a floured board. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin a little bit.
4. Spread the cream cheese filling in the middle section about 2-4 tbsp or just cover the surface. Top with apricot preserves.
5. Then use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into strips on each side of the filling at 45 deg. angle. Discard some dough if needed.
6. Fold the top end over the filling and then take a strip on one side across and over the filling.
7. Then fold a strip on the opposite side across and over the first strip. Repeat the process to make a braid pattern. Discard some dough if needed for easy folding. Use the scrap dough to make mini puff pastry treats.
8. Repeat the process for the second sheet of dough.
9. Brush with the remaining egg and sprinkle with crystal sugar. Bake at 400 deg. F. for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
10. Let cool completely in the pan.
