How To make Texas Hot Hash
1 lb Lean ground beef
1 lg Onion, thinly sliced
1 lg Green pepper, finely chopped
1 Clove garlic,
-peeled and crushed 16 oz Can stewed tomatoes
3/4 c Instant rice
2 1/2 t Chili powder
1 1/2 t Salt
1/8 t Pepper
8 oz Can tomato sauce
1/4 c Sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
-(optional) 1. In a deep, 2-quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic casserole crumble the
ground beef. Add the onion, green pepper and crushed garlic. 2. Heat, uncovered, in Microwave Oven 6 minutes or until meat is browned.
Stir occasionally to break up the meat. 3. Add the remaining ingredients except the Cheddar cheese.. Mix throughly
to combine. 4. Heat, covered, in the Microwave Oven 7 minutes.
5. lf desired, sprinkle Cheddar cheese over the top of the meat mixture.
6. Heat, uncovered, in Microwave Oven 1 1/2 minutes or until cheese melts.

1 pound hamburger
1 green pepper, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1 (16 oz) can whole tomatoes
½ cup rice
2 teaspoon chili powder
2 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Brown ground beef, green pepper and onions. Remove excess fat. Add tomatoes, rice, chili powder, salt and pepper. Mix well. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. Pour into an ungreased 2 quart casserole dish. Cover; bake for 1 hour.
This was a family favorite growing up and still is. Aunt Judy shared this recipe with mom and it has been passed to me and our daughter, Kathryn. We love to have it with country green beans, applesauce and a slice of butter bread.

Recipe for Texas Hash
preheat oven to 350°
1pound of Hamburger
32 ounce Can diced tomatoes ( do not drain)
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1teaspoon chili powder
2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
cook hamburger and drain
to a bowl mix all ingredients together
Use a 9 by 13 pan and spay with non cooking spray
put the mixture in pan and cover with aluminum foil
bake for 45 minutes, remove foil and continue to bake for additional 15 minutes take out of the oven add the cheese and allow to cool, while the dish cools the cheese will melt.. pair it with whatever you like and enjoy..

1/2 Red Bellpepper
1/2 a White Onion
1 Chopped Jalapeño
