How To make Buttered Rum Pound Cake with Glaze
1 c BUTTER, SOFTENED
2 1/2 c SUGAR
6 ea EGGS, SEPARATED
1/4 ts BAKING SODA
8 oz SOUR CREAM
1 ts VANILLA AND LEMON EXtrACT
1/2 c SUGAR
ea BUTTERED RUM GLAZE,TO FOLLOW Cream butter; gradually beat in 2 1/2 c. sugar. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour and baking soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with cour cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in flavorings. Beat egg whites, at room temperature, until foamy; gradually add 1/2 c. sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form, fold into batter. Pour batter into well greased and floured 10 in tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees of 1 1/2 hours or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10-15 minutes, remove from pan, and place on serving plate. While warm. prick cake surface at 1 inch intervals with a wodden pick. Pour warm glaze over cake. Let cake stand several hours or over night before serving. BUTTERED RUM GLAZE: 1/4c plus 2 tbsp butter 3 tbsp rum 3/4 c. sugar 3 tbsp water 1/2 c.
chopped walnuts. Combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Boil mixture, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in nuts. Glaze cake.

Ingredients Used
For the cake
1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
1 pk (3.4oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
1/3 cup unsalted butter melted
1/3 cup vegetable oil (adds a lot of moisture)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp coconut extract
4 egg @ room temp
1/2 cup buttermilk @ room temp
1/2 cup dark rum
1/4 tsp All spice
For the caramel butter rum glaze
1/2 cup rum
1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter
1 cup brown sugar (white will work too)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Bake @350 F for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out dry! Allow to cool down completely before glazing! Refrigerate overnight or let sit for at least 4-6 hours to absorb that good rum glaze! Serve with a cold dollop of more rum glaze! Mmmmm… Enjoy!

OLD SCHOOL PECAN RUM CAKE ???? (FRIDAY NIGHT CAKE SEGMENT )
This is an awesome delicious,moist cake
CAKE RECIPE:
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 cups all-purpose flour
4 eggs room temperature, large
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1½ teaspoons baking powder
½ cup buttermilk
¾ cup aged rum
1 cup chopped roasted pecans
For the Buttered Rum Sauce:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup aged rum
Instructions
For the Cake:
Preheat oven to 325F. Spray a (10- to 15-cup) Bundt pan with baking spray or butter and flour it.
Combine flour, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl then whisk together.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat butter, oil, and sugar, on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until combined after each addition. Add vanilla, beating just until combined.
With the mixer on low, add flour mixture alternating with rum and buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture just until combined.

Pour batter into pan. Gently tap on counter a few times to settle batter.
Bake for 65 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 15 minutes. Invert onto a cool rack and let cool completely. Glaze cooled cake with half of Buttered Rum Sauce. Serve with remaining sauce.
For the Sauce:
Melt butter and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add rum stirring until fully combined. Bring to a boil. Boil, stirring occasionally for 1-2 minutes. Transfer mixture to a heat-proof bowl or measuring cup; let cool to room temperature, stirring occasionally. Use immediately or store chilled in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Warm slightly before using.

Butter Rum EggNog Pound Cake
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
3 sticks softened butter
6 eggs room temperature
1 cup eggNog room temp
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon rum extract
2 cups Sugar
Mix butter and sugar together for about 6 minutes then add extracts, add eggs one at a time then add your dry ingredients and last add your egg nog
Bake in a greased Bundt pan in Preheated oven on 325 for 1 hour 5 minutes
Let cool for 10 minutes then flip out of pan,
Glaze
2 cups Powdered sugar
3 tablespoons of melted butter
1/4 cup of eggnog
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of rum extract
Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg
Pour over cooled cake and enjoy
