Five Flavor Pound Cake
2 sticks butter (not margarine) 1 cup milk ½ cup shortening 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 3 cups sugar 1 tsp. lemon flavoring 5 eggs, well beaten 1 tsp. butter flavoring 3 cups plain unsifted flour 1 tsp. rum flavoring ½ tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. coconut flavoring ¼ tsp. salt Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well. Add flavorings. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture alternately with milk. (Start and end with flour.) Do not overbeat. Pour into greased and floured tube pan; bake at 325° for 1 ½ hours.
Glaze (Opt.) 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. butter flavoring 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 tsp. rum flavoring 1 tsp. lemon flavoring 1 tsp. coconut flavoring Bring to a boil; pour over cake while it is still hot.
