How To make White Beans, Hijiki, Rice, and Red Cabbage
4 cups dry white (navy) beans 1 oz hijiki sea vegetable 2 cups cooked rice 1 small red cabbage, diced small 2 tbs balsamic vinegar tamari sauce to taste
Cook beans until tender, add hijiki towards end of cooking process (so it won't fall apart), saute diced red cabbage in vinegar and water until tender. Mix beans, rice and red cabbage. Add tamari sauce to taste. Let sit a few minutes so flavors will blend. Looks like veg-scrapple, but tastes pretty good. It is good without the tamari, sort of sweet and vinegary.

Edamame Kiritanpo
Ingredients:
- 4 lb Edamame (frozen or fresh)
- 2 lb Cooked White Rice
- 2 tsp Miso
- 1 tsp Ginger, grated
- 2 Tbsp Flour
- Vegetable Oil
Instructions:
1. Cook (or thaw) the edamame in boiling water and drain. Remove edamame beans from the shells.
2. Peel the thin skin of the beans and finely chop into small pieces using food processor. Mash the rice while it’s hot, and mix in the miso, ginger, and edamame.
3. Place cooked rice in a bowl (while it’s warm) and mash them. Add miso, edamame, and grated ginger and mix well.
4. Add flour in the rice mixture, and make bite sized circles, like the shape of slider patties.
5. Pour vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry both sides until brown over medium heat.
SPICY BEAN SPROUT recipe (JAPANESE STYLE )
I believe SPICY BEAN SPROUT is originally from China or Korea. But Japanese version is also popular here in Japan. Why don't we try making this super easy side dish together. It won't take time. Japanese version we need 7 taste pepper powder(In this video I skipped the word 'taste' for several times. Sorry for that. ). We call it Shichimi Togarashi or Shichimi in Japanese.

【Cooking Japanese Food at Home】Quick and Easy Recipe ~ Five Ingredients Rice Gomoku Gohan
Inspiring you to cook 〜 G is for Gomoku Gohan
Gohan can mean rice or meal in Japanese. Gomoku gohan means rice with 5 ingredients.
I used daikon radish, carrot, konjac, shiitake mushroom and chicken as my 5 ingredients, but experiment with your own varieties.
【Tips】Burdock root and dried bean curds are also popular to add. Seafood like prawns can overcook very easily in the rice cooker, so best to avoid.
Ingredients: Serves Four
2 cups Japanese rice (washed)
200g daikon radish
1/2 carrot
1/4 konjac
4 large shiitake mushroom
250g chicken
2tbsp soy sauce
1tbsp sake
1tbsp mirin
1tsp fish stock
Water
【Tips】If like me you added too much water or the rice tastes a little bland, rather than adding more soy sauce trying adding a little bit of salt before serving.
