How To make Whiskey Sour Sirloin
3 lb (1pc) Round Bone Sirloin
1/3 c Lemon Juice
1/3 c Orange Juice
1/4 c Vegetable Oil
1/4 c Whiskey
1 ea Small Onion, Thinly Sliced
12 ea Peppercorns
1 t Salt
1 ea Med Orange, Thinly Sliced
When getting the steak look for a good piece that is about 2-inches thick. Place steak in shallow baking dish. In small saucepan combine remaining ingredients except orange. Over low heat, simmer 5 minutes; pour over meat. Top with orange slices; cover. Refrigerate 4 to 6 hours, turning occasionally. Remove meat from marinade; grill or broil as desired. Heat remaining marinade and serve with steak.

Butter Basted Steak Tutorial ????????????
Few things beat a steak grilled over fire, but with colder months approaching - and really anytime - butter basting indoors is a great option. It's a really simple technique with incredibly flavorful results. Make sure you use a high-quality butter like Challenge Butter ( - which is churned fresh daily and farmer owned.
To begin, Dry the exterior of your steak extremely well, salting at least 1 hour prior (ideally overnight) if you have time. Using a high smoke point oil like avocado, sear the steak over high heat. Flip frequently.
Once a crust starts to form, add your butter and aromatics, adjusting the heat so it bubbles but doesn’t burn. I find that a half a stick of Challenge Butter is the perfect amount. Baste the steak, focusing on areas of the crust that are lighter. Think of the butter as a golden oven, distributing flavors and cooking all sides of the steak. Remember to flip frequently.
Pull the steak around 115F for medium rare, let it rest on a rack to protect the bottom crust. Reheat the butter and pour on top of the steak prior to slicing to awaken the crust. Slice and enjoy! #AD

Whiskey Sour Recipe
2 oz. / 60 ml Whiskey (I used high west whiskey)
1 oz. / 30 ml Simple syrup
1 oz. / 30 ml Lemon juice
Egg white
Angostura bitters
Cherry
Shake all ingredients without ice. Add ice and shake again. Serve in a chilled coupe and garnish with angostura bitters and a cherry.

How to make the Whisky Sour
The Whisky Sour goes back a long way. Back to the 1700's to be exact when something was needed to make the watered down naval Rum ration taste better. Over the years there's been countless versions, all equally great in their own right. I like making mine with Forty Creek Canadian Whisky.

In a shaker glass combine:
2oz - WHISKY
3/4oz - SIMPLE SYRUP
3/4oz - FRESH LEMON JUICE
1 EGG WHITE
-Dry shake to emulsify the egg white.
-Toss in some ice and shake it good
-Strain into a Rock Glass full of ice or straight up
-Garnish with an Orange slice an Cherry
