Juicy Chicken Stew Recipe | Wanna Cook
***OPEN ME***
Hey what’s up guys it’s me Thato back again with recipes that make you want to cook on today’s video we are making a Warm and comforting Chicken Stew, stay tuned
Let’s get started guys and as usual i will list all the ingredients in the description box down below.
- [ ] 8 Chicken Drums
- [ ] 1 tbsp Oil
- [ ] 2 tbsp Butter/Margerine
- [ ] 1 tbsp of seasoning spice
- [ ] 2 Medium onion
- [ ] 2 tsp Garlic
- [ ] 1 1/2 tsp Ginger
- [ ] 1-2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- [ ] 2 tsp Thyme
- [ ] 2 tsp Oregano
- [ ] 2 tsp Paprika
- [ ] 1 tsp Curry powder
- [ ] 3-4 Tomatoes
- [ ] 1-2 tbsp Tomato sauce
- [ ] Chicken stock
- [ ] Red, yellow and green bell peppers
- [ ] Cross and Blackwell Hot and spicy sauce
- [ ] Salt and pepper to taste
ENJOY!
In a hot pot, add 1 tbsp of oil and two tablespoons of butter/Margerine. Let the it melt for a bit. Add your seasoned chicken to fry on each side until golden brown, and the skin is crispy good on high heat. You can season your chicken with any of your favorite spices or that you have at hand. I will show you the spices i used later on in the video.
Once the chicken is golden brown on each side, reduce your heat to a medium high heat and add 2 medium onions chopped and ket then cook for 3 minutes. If you have some burnt bits at the bottom of your pot as a result of frying the chicken, do not worry, the onions will help to deglace your pot and scrape out that flavor.
Add 2 tsp of Garlic and 1 1/2 tsp of ginger. Saute for 30 seconds until you can start to smell the fragrance of the garlic and ginger. I love the smell of garlic and ginger, so that is always a pleasure for me. Comment down below, what combination of herbs and spices do you like?
Once that Garlic and Ginger smell hits you, it’s time to add more herbs and spices. Add 2 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, 2 tsp of Thyme, 2 tsp of Oregano, 2 tsp of paprika and 1 tsp of Curry powder. Then proceed to add 3 medium tomatoes quartered or diced and 2 tbsp of Tomato sauce or ketchup. S
Stir that bomb of goodness together, close the pot and let that cook for 8 minutes on Medium Heat. If you need to adda little bit of water, go on ahead and add about 3 tbsp of water at a time. While our tomatoes reduce, for more weekly delicious recipes like this, please be sure to subscribe and turn on the notification bell, so you’re the first to be notified when i have posted a new recipe, and if you’re enjoying this video, please hit that like buttun, comment down below and show me some love, i will show you some love.
Oookay, enough about self promotion, let’s get back to the business of the day... This is also the perfect time to add your red, yellow and green bell pepper. Stir those in, add a little bit of chicken stock just to cover the chicken slightly, close the pot and simmer for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes of simmering, you want to check the salt in your pot, add a little more if you need to, i also added about a tsp or two of black pepper. We are going to add a little bit of creaminess and zing to our stew buy adding the Cross and Blackwell Hot and Spicy sauce, just to give it that Kasi Magic. Close the pot again and let it simmer for another 15min. And the stew is ready to be devoured!
Garnish with some plarsley and enjoy with some pap, rice, steamed bread or on a bed of creamy delicious mash potato.
Thank you for watching guys, i hope you enjoyed the recipe and i hope you try it. Please don’t forget to like the video and i will see you on the next one.
