Today I'm going to show you how to make veggie patties with oats.
This veggie patty makes a delicious veggie burger.
It's a savory oat recipe you can make for dinner, and it reheats so well for breakfast.

VEGGIE PATTIES RECIPE
(makes 8 patties)
Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats (180g)
1/2 cup boiling water (120ml)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 medium red onion
2 cloves garlic
2 medium carrots, grated (150g)
1 medium zucchini, grated (200g)
1/2 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 eggs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (20g)
1/4 cup ground oats, or oat flour (25g)
2 tbsp lemon juice
NUTRITIONAL INFO (per patty):
131 calories, fat 3.3g, carb 20.1g, protein 5.9g
Preparation:
First, soak the oats in boiling water for 30 minutes. Season the oats with salt and black pepper.
While soaking, saute onions and garlic over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, then add grated carrots and zucchini and cook for next 3-4 minutes. Spice it up with ground coriander and ground cumin. Let it cool a bit.
Add the veggies to soaked oats and add the other ingredients, eggs, parmesan cheese, ground oats and lemon juice.
Mix everything well with a wooden spoon and let it chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Wet your hands with water and shape the patties about 1/2 inch or 1.5 cm thick.
You can either bake or pan-fry the patties.
Baking: brush the tops with olive oil and bake at 350F (180C) for 25-30 minutes, flip over after 15 minutes.
Pan-frying: fry the patties over medium-low heat for 3-4 minutes each side.
Serve with coleslaw, fried egg or in a bun as veggie burger.

HOMEMADE BREADCRUMBS RECIPE
Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats (200g)
1 tbsp melted butter or olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Preparation:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Spread the rolled oats evenly on the lined baking sheet. Drizzle melted butter or olive oil over the oats.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until the oats are lightly golden and fragrant.
Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.
Once the oats are cool, transfer them to a food processor and pulse a few times until they break down into a breadcrumb-like texture.
Season the breadcrumbs with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Pulse a few more times to ensure that the seasonings are evenly distributed.
Store the homemade breadcrumbs in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer until ready to use.
Enjoy your homemade breadcrumbs in your favorite recipes that call for breadcrumbs, such as meatballs, breaded chicken, or casseroles.

LEFTOVER CHICKEN PATTIES RECIPE
(makes 10 patties)
Ingredients:
4 cups shredded chicken, white or dark meat (450g)
2 eggs
1/4 cup Greek yogurt (60g)
2 tbsp mustard
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/3 cup ground oats, or oat flour (35g)
2 tbsp minced parsley
1 cup grated cheese, mozzarella or cheddar cheese (100g)
1/4 cup coarsly ground oats, for breading (25g)
NUTRITIONAL INFO (per patty):
107 calories, fat 3.6g, carb 4.7g, protein 13.3g
Preparation:
First, shred the chicken with a fork, or chop it up with a knife.
In a large bowl, add the eggs, Greek yogurt, mustard, salt, black pepper, onion powder and garlic powder, and whisk it up.
Add the ground oats and mix until the batter is formed.
Add the parsley, grated cheese and shredded chicken, and gently fold everything together, until combined.
Scoop 1/3 cup mixture and shape the patties with your hands, you should get 10 patties about 80g each.
Pan fry the patties over medium heat for 4-5 minutes each side, using just a little bit of olive oil.
Serve with any side dish you like, or in a bun as veggie burger.

Today made we the best oat pattie meat substitute here's how
In a medium saucepan bring three cups of water to a boil and add to that 3 cups of quick oatmeal Incorporate the water and the oatmeal and add another cup of water simmer this for ten minutes on low heat or until oatmeal becomes thick. Add cooked oatmeal in a large bowl and chop half of a small onion and half of a tomato mix this into the cooked oatmeal. Mix well then add
1teaspoon of onion powder
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1teaspoon of salt
And 1 tablespoon of jerk sauce ( this adds a kick of spice)
Mix this well. Well, oil your baking pan using a round-shaped thing like a cookie cutter to shape your patties. bake 400°F for 35minutes or until golden. And there you have it, perfectly made plant-based meat substitute. This does the job of any other meat patty. This is perfect for pasta, stir-fries, and of course burgers. Weather breakfast lunch or dinner this is a great meat substitute, enjoy!
