Overnight French Toast Casserole
1 lb French bread, cut into 1” cubes
Custard:
8 eggs
2 c milk
3/4 c heavy cream or half & half
2 t vanilla
Topping:
1/4 c flour
1/4 c brown sugar
2 t cinnamon
1 stick of butter shredded or cubed
Spray 9x13 pan with non stick spray.
Put cubed bread in pan.
Whip eggs, sugar, milk, heavy cream & vanilla until smooth and creamy.
Pour onto bread and stir to coat.
Cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate 12-24 hours.
Mix topping until crumbly, cover and refrigerate.
Preheat oven to 350*
Take Casserole out of refrigerator and uncover. Spread topping on top of casserole.
Cover in foil, bake 30-40 minutes. Test with knife once the knife comes out clean it’s ready.
Serve with maple syrup.

Apple Pie French Toast Casserole - Rise & Shine Breakfast - Episode #109
Apple Pie French Toast Casserole
6 servings
Cooking spray
1/2 loaf of French bread (day old)
1 can apple pie filling
6 eggs
1 cup milk or half/half
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple pie spice
1/2-1 cup pecans or walnuts
Preheat oven to 350F.
Spray a 8x8 casserole dish with cooking spray.
Rip up French bread into bite sized pieces and spread out evenly on the bottom of the casserole dish.
Spread apple pie filling evenly over top of the French bread piecee, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of apple pie spice.
In a medium size mixing bowl, whisk together milk & eggs. Pour over top of apple pie filling.
In a small bowl, stir together brown sugar & apple pie spice add pecans or walnuts. Sprinkle over top the egg mixture. Cover.
Bake for 30 minutes, covered. Then remove cover and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until egg mixture is set. Serve hot.
