Puffed Apple Pancake, also known as a Dutch baby, is a delicious breakfast treat that is sure to impress your guests. This impressive dish is easy to make and perfect for brunch, weekend breakfasts, or even a special occasion breakfast.
Ingredients:
3 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole milk
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, flour, milk, sugar, and salt until well combined and no lumps remain.
In a 10-inch oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the sliced apples and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, or until the apples are tender and lightly browned.
Pour the egg mixture over the apples and transfer the skillet to the oven.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pancake is puffed and golden brown.
Remove the pancake from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar and serving with maple syrup.
Notes:
Be sure to use an oven-safe skillet for this recipe, as it will go in the oven.
You can use any variety of apples you like, but I recommend using tart apples such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
This pancake is best served immediately while it's still hot and puffed up.
In conclusion, the Puffed Apple Pancake recipe is a delicious and impressive breakfast or brunch option that is easy to make and sure to please.
The combination of fluffy pancake batter and sweet, tender apples is a match made in heaven. Try it out for yourself and impress your guests with this tasty dish.
