PANCIT CANTON GUISADO RECIPE
Pancit canton guisado is a Filipino noodle dish, where canton noodles is stir fried with chicken, chicken liver, cabbage, carrot, green beans, squid balls in a sauce made with soy sauce, oyster sauce. garlic, onion and fish sauce. With the presence of noodles, veggies and meat, the pancit canton guisado can already be considered a full meal. This dish can be compared to the Chinese chow mein. Often, both chicken and chicken liver are used as protein sources.

INGREDIENTS:
500 grams canton noodles
250 grams chicken (sliced)
250 grams chicken liver (sliced)
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 small head cabbage (chopped)
1 medium carrot (sliced into strips)
5 cloves of garlic (chopped)
1 medium onion (chopped)
10 pieces squid balls (sliced in half)
½ cup green beans (sliced)
1 tablespoon fish sauce
oil (for sautéing)
Directions:
Heat some oil in a pan. Add the squid balls and then fry them until light brown. Set aside.
Using the same pan, add the garlic and onions. Saute them for a few minutes until aromatic before adding the chicken. Once the chicken changes color, add the chicken liver. Saute them for a few minutes until the both chicken and liver changes color.
Add the carrot strips. Season with some salt and pepper.
Add the green beans. Cover the pot and let this cook for 3 to 5 minutes before adding the sliced bell peppers and cabbage. Saute gently until the cabbage are half cooked.
Remove the veggies from the pan and set aside.
Using the same pan, add some water, soy sauce, black pepper, and the chicken broth cube. Stir gently and let it boil.
Add the canton noodles into the broth. Submerge them to cook and soften. You may need to stir the noodles a few times. Let this cook until the sauce dries up.
Once the sauce has dried, add the oyster sauce, fried squidballs and the mixed veggies. Toss gently until all ingredients are well distributed. Once all the ingredients come together, turn the heat off.
Transfer the pancit canton guisado to a serving plate. Enjoy this as it is or have it with some slices of loaf bread. Dont forget to drizzle some calamansi juice before eating. Yum!

Pancit Miki is a Filipino noodle dish made with wheat flour noodles, pork belly, garlic, onion, soy sauce, oyster sauce, red bell pepper, pepper, carrot, cabbage and pork broth cube. The guisado in its name is the Tagalog term for “sauteed” which implies that these noodles are tossed with colorful and healthy veggies like cabbages, bell peppers and carrots, and optionally topped with kikiam, squidballs, shrimp, and chicharon.

WRITTEN RECIPE HERE:
INGREDIENTS
½ kilo miki noodles
250 grams pork belly
5 cloves of garlic (minced)
1 medium onion (chopped)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 medium red bell pepper (sliced)
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 small carrot (sliced into strips)
around 200 grams cabbage (sliced)
1 piece pork broth cube
2 to 3 cups water
Directions:
Prepare the pork belly slices and place them in a heated pan (no oil). Saute them using high heat until light brown. Once the oil is rendered from the fat. Add the cloves of garlic, and onions and saute them until aromatic. Season with black pepper, soy sauce and the pork broth cube. Stir and mix well.
Add some water. Cover the pot and let it simmer for a few minutes using low medium heat until the pork is tender.
Do the fork test to check if the pork is soft. Once tender, add the carrots and the red bell pepper. Saute them for a few minutes.
Then, add the miki noodles. Saute and mix them until well coated with the sauce. You can add more water if you like it saucy.
Add the oyster sauce and continue tossing the noodles for 5 to 6 minutes.
Lastly, add the chopped cabbage. Stir fry them all together for around 5 minutes. Turn the heat off.
Transfer the miki guisado to a serving plate. Serve this with your favorite toppings and some fresh calamansi on the side. Yum!

1 pc garlic (small size)
1 lb chicken thigh/liver
1 cup kikiam
1/2 cup green beans
1 pc carrot (small size)

3 cups chicken stock

2 tbsp oyster sauce

-800g pork belly sliced into strips
-water enough to submerge meat
-1/2tsp salt and ground black pepper
-400g chicken liver (marinated in 1Tbsp soy sauce and 1Tbsp knorr liquid seasoning for about 10min)
-2pcs chopped onions
-1head chopped garlic
-1/4tsp salt and ground black pepper
-1 and 1/2Tbsp knorr liquid seasoning
-3Tbsp soy sauce
-6Tbsp oyster sauce
-2pcs sliced carrots
-half of a cabbage sliced
-added about 2 and 1/2Cup water (add more water if needed)
