How To make Oatburgers with Mushrooms
1 Large onion, diced
1/2 lb Fresh mushrooms
diced
1/4 c Oil
4 1/2 c Water
1 t Garlic powder
1/2 ts Dried basil
1/4 c Nutritional yeast
1/2 ts Seasalt
1/3 c Soy sauce
1/4 ts Oregano
1/2 ts Thyme
5 c Old fashioned
rolled oats Saute the first four ingredients in a covered saucepan. While they are sauteeing, bring to a boil all the other ingredients except the oats. Lower heat, add the sauteed vegetables, and add the oats, one cup at a time, sallowing each cupful to sink a little before stirring gently. Cook up to five minutes:
until mixture starts to stick to bottom of pot. Set aside to cool. It's much easier to form the patties if the mixture has cooled at least 10-15 minutes. Form into patties, place on oiled cookie sheet, bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Turn once after about 20 minutes. Makes about 20- 25 burgers. Oatburgers lend themselves to many variations. Some further suggestions are dill, parsley, celery, green or red peppers in placeof the mushrooms. - 2 cups mushrooms
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 Slices GF bread
- 1 1/2 cups Cooked chickpeas
- 1 medium onion
- 1 1/2 cups Cooked Quinoa
- 3/4 cups rolled oats
- 1/4 cup sunglower seeds
- 3 tbsps chickpea
- 2 tbsps ground flaxseeds
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
This is a really quick and easy recipe that can be made in large batches for freezing if necessary.

Lentil Oat Burgers | Vegan Burger | The Pot Thickens
You can make this healthy burger recipe easily at home. This is a nutritious and delicious lentil burger patty made with oats. It is a low fat baked burger that has a crisp exterior and a moist and meaty interior.
Ingredients:
1 cup of dried crimson lentils (affiliate link )
2 cups water
1 1/2 cup walnuts
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 large onion coarsely chopped
1 large carrot coarsely chopped
4 cloves garlic roughly chopped
1/2 cup chickpea (besan) flour (affiliate link )
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp onion powder
2 tbsp Maggi seasoning (affiliate link ) - may substitute soy sauce or miso paste
salt and black pepper to taste
Cook lentils in water until softened, about 20 minutes. Drain any excess water. Meanwhile, in a food processor, grind walnuts and oats. Add vegetables and process until somewhat fine. Add chickpea flour along with the herbs and spices and pulse. Add the drained lentils and process until combined into a ground meat consistency. Place in a bowl and refrigerate for about 2 hours. Form into patties. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 400 °F for 25 minutes turning the patties over after the first 10 minutes. Place on a bun and top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

In today's episode, I'm making lentil burgers, which might sound boring, but I promise these burgers are great. They're not trying to imitate meat; and they don't have the same firm, chewy texture as Beyond and Impossible; but the flavor is great.
Ingredients:
2 cups dry lentils
1 can red beans
1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp tahini
1-1/2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1/2 cup masa flour
