How To make Mock Apple Pie (Cracker Pie)
4 c Water
2 c Sugar
4 ts Cream of tartar
40 Ritz crackers; crumbled
Dash of cinnamon Dash of nutmeg 1 Pie shell; unbaked
Butter Combine water, sugar and cream of tartar; bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes. Add cracker crumbs, cinnamon and nutmeg. Boil for 1 minute longer. Cool; place in pie shell. Dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.

Mock Apple Pie Recipe
Bake @ 350 for 30-35 min
Pie Crust
2 1/2 cups ap flour
1 tsp salt
2 TBSP sugar
3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup crisco
1/2 cup ice water
Pie Filling
36 ritz crackers
2 cups sugar
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 3/4 cup water
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
*optional* 1 egg for egg wash

Filling
1 2 cups water
2 3/4 cup granulated sugar
3 2 tsp. cream of tartar
4 30 Ritz Crackers
5 1 ready-to-use refrigerated pie crust (1/2 of 425-g pkg.)
6 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
7 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Topping
8 25 Ritz Crackers, crushed (about 1 cup)
9 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
10 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
11 1/3 cup non-hydrogenated margarine, melted
12 2 cups Cool Whip Whipped Topping
Ritz Mock Apple Pie!
Ingredients:
Filling:
2 cups water
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp cream are tartar
35 Ritz crackers, whole
1 refrigerated pie crust
1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Topping:
1 cup crushed Ritz crackers
2/3 cup light brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
Directions:
1. Crush the crackers for the topping in a Nutribullet or food processor.
2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and fit the pie crust into a 9 inch pie plate.
3. In a medium saucepan, heat the water, sugar, and cream of tartar on medium high heat until it reaches a boil.
4. Add the 35 Ritz crackers and simmer on medium low for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
6. Evenly pour on the lemon juice and then sprinkle the cinnamon over top of that.
7. Prepare the filling by melting the butter in the microwave and then adding the other ingredients to it.
8. Mix to combine and then sprinkle onto the pie filling.
9. Fold the crust down to be just above the filling.
10. Bake for 10 minutes and then lower the heat to 350, cover the crust with aluminum foil, and bake an additional 18-20 minutes.
11. Remove from the oven (It may still be a little jiggly in the center, but not much.) Let cool and enjoy!!!
This pie tastes just like apple pie!!! Seriously! How???? It is sooooo good served warm with whipped cream or ice cream! YUM!!! I read that they used to make then in the days of the depression because apples were hard to come by, but crackers weren't. Who knows if Ritz crackers made that up. I'm not sure! Anyways thanks for watching. You should definitely make this pie!
Mock Apple Pie
This recipe turned out awesome! I used the main recipe from Ritz for the majority of the pie. But instead of putting a crust over the top of the pie as called for in the original recipe I used the crumble part of the recipe from Allrecipes. When I was getting the links for the two recipes I used to make this pie I discovered a recipe to make the pie as I did with the regular pie and crumble on top. Here's the link:

Mock Apple Pie
You can make an Apple Pie with Ritz crackers. This mock apple pie really does taste just like apple pie. This is an old recipe from Ritz crackers that was in my Grandmother's recipe box, and I recently gave it a try.
