How To make Icelandic Three Grain Brown Bread
1/2 c Brown sugar, packed
1/2 c Butter, softened
1 c Rolled oats
1 c Dark rye flour
2 c Whole wheat flour
2 c All purpose flour
1 t Salt
4 ts Baking soda
2 1/2 c Buttermilk
This soda bread recipe comes from an Icelandic farmhouse. It's dark, delicious, and full of wholesome grains. It's also excellent toasted. Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease two 9x5x3 inch loaf pans. In a large bowl, cream together the brown sugar and butter. Mix the rolled oats, rye flour, whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, salt, and baking soda together in another bowl, then add the creamed mixture along with the buttermilk. Mix until well blended. Divide the mixture between the two pans and smooth the tops. Bake 1 hour or until a wooden skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Turn out of pans and cool on racks. Makes 2 loaves. Making Rye Bread with Only Two Ingredients at Home: Without Yeast
In this video, you will see how Masan's makes her own bread early in the morning. The bread was delicious. I don't like to put sugar into my own bread because the flour has a unique aroma, and I do not want to spoil it. Thanks for clicking, and start making own bread because it is simpler, healthier, and better.
I only used two ingredients: water and rye flour, which is dark as you can see, and I did not add any yeast into the dough. Very easy recipe, indeed.

Classic Boston Brown Bread
This is the three grain, molasses, raisin brown bread made by the Puritans and to our luck a wonderful sweet, easy and delicious all American recipe. This recipe is a favorite of New England (my old stomping grounds) enjoyed on most Saturday evening meals. This bread was toasted in butter with a side of Boston Baked Beans in which I will be making next week to go with this old fashion keep sake. Checkout this recipe detail on my website at:
