The most amazing CANNED TUNA PASTA!

Tuna pasta is such a great dinner to make when you don't have much in the cupboard. For canned tuna recipe cynics out there - it's time to take a leap of faith! This is seriously tasty, very economical and super fast - it comes together in 15 minutes flat, from start to finish.
PRINT RECIPE:
The most amazing canned tuna pasta
200g / 7oz spaghetti, or other thin long pasta
1 tbsp cooking salt, for cooking pasta
TUNA SAUCE:
285g/ 10 oz (approx) canned tuna in oil*, drained, oil reserved (pasta can take more or less, I use 3 x 95g/3.5oz cans)
2 clove garlic, finely minced
2 anchovy fillets*, minced (sub 1 tsp paste)
1/2 tsp chilli flakes/red pepper flakes (can skip)
2 tsp baby capers (or finely chopped pickles)
1 tbsp parsley, finely chopped (ok to skip)
1 tsp lemon zest
2 tbsp lemon juice (sub 1 tbsp apple cider or sherry vinegar)
1/4 tsp cooking/kosher salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1. Cook pasta in 3L/3 qts boiling water with the 1 tbsp salt. Just before draining, scoop out ~1 cup pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.
2. In the same pot, heat the reserved oil from the tuna cans over medium heat. Cook garlic, anchovies and chilli flakes for 1 min. Add pasta, capers and 1/3 cup of reserved pasta water*. Toss using 2 spatulas for 2 min. Add tuna, parsley, lemon zest, juice, salt and pepper. Toss gently to mix through – try to keep some tuna chunks. Serve immediately!
Notes
* Not all tuna is created equal. The more you pay, the better. Not end of world if you skip anchovies AS LONG as you’re using the oil from tuna cans. If pasta cools down and is no longer hot and slippery with sauce, add splash of extra reserved pasta water then toss on stove until it reheats and becomes slick with sauce again.

475 ml (2 Tassen) Brühe oder Wasser
200 g (2 Tassen) ungekochte Penne-Nudeln
2 Dosen Thunfisch in Olivenöl
125 g (1/2 Tasse) griechischer Joghurt
Petersilie
Mit Meersalz und schwarzem Pfeffer würzen

Tuna Salad and Sea Shells
It’s Seafood Month in Massachusetts! Get your dose of seafood this week and try this yummy tuna salad with shells from Ms. Anna in Chicopee!
Recipe:
- 2 6oz cans of tuna, in water
- 1 package of pasta (shells or penne are best)
- 1 bell pepper
- 3 stalks of celery
- 1/2 onion
- 3 or 4 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- lemon for lemon juice
- salt and pepper, to taste
How to:
Boil hot water for the pasta in a pot on high heat. Once boiling, place pasta in pot and cook uncovered. Check the box instructions for cook time. Add a pinch of salt and a tsp. of olive oil to keep the pasta from sticking together. While pasta is cooking, wash your hands for 20 seconds and then wash your veggies in cold water. Chop up your veggies and add to a large bowl. Open your cans or pouches of tuna and add to the bowl. Mix it all together and then add the mayo. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a couple squeezes of lemon. Mix it all together before trying with a spoon. Add more spices, tuna, or mayo to your preferred liking.
Continue to stir the pasta throughout. When the timer goes off, cautiously drain your pasta in a colander. Rinse with cool water and let sit for a few minutes to dry. Then, add your pasta into the tuna salad and mix together. If you like the taste, cover the bowl and place it into the fridge for about 30 minutes to cool. Viola! You’re done! Enjoy your tuna pasta salad.
Variations:
1) If you like tuna salad in sandwiches instead of adding pasta, feel free to add a bit more mayo to make everything stick well together in your sandwich. I like to add lettuce into my tuna salad sandwiches.
2) If you like tuna melts, add a slice of cheese to the sandwich with the tuna salad, and warm up in a panini maker, toaster over (NOT a toaster) or a warm oven for a few minutes.

2 cups mayonnaise (gradually add more if you need to)
1/3 cucumber
1 cup lettuce
1/2 red onion
1 spring onion
1 tbsp fresh lemon / 1/3 fresh lemon juice
2 cups boiled pasta
Seasonings:
1/2 tsp salt (to your taste)
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
