Note: You can use a slice of ham loaf to make a sandwich with Swiss cheese and add other things you wanted.
Ingredients: 3 cups ground leftover ham (I use a food processor to ground the ham.) 1/2 pound ground pork 1 cup milk 1 cup breadcrumbs 2 large eggs Salt and pepper to taste Glaze: 2-4 tbsp pack brown sugar 1 tsp mustard 1-2 tsp apple cider vinegar pinch of salt
Method 1. In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the ham loaf together, mix, and knead well by hand. 2. Place the mixture into a greased loaf pan (9x 5) and cover with foil. 3. Bake at 350 deg. F for 45 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, mix all of the glaze ingredients together in a small saucepan, stir, and cook over medium-low heat until coming to a boil, set aside to cool. 5. The Butcher Shoppe Recipe Video - Ham Loaf
Ham Loaf
Ham Loaf (From my D-I-L)
2 pound ham loaf mix 1 cup graham cracker crumbs 2 eggs 1/2 cup milk
Mix first four ingredients together and put it into a loaf pan & pat it down.
Syrup: 2/3-1 cup brown sugar (1 cup was too sweet for us) 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup white vinegar 1/2 tsp mustard
Mix syrup ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil for 2 minutes. Pour syrup over ham loaf and bake at 350 for 1 hour & 15 minutes to 1 hour & 1/2. Allow it to sit outside the oven for at least 10 minutes before removing to a platter & slicing. Note: I place my loaf pan on a cookie sheet In the oven as it tends to splatter while cooking. This can also be made into ham balls & bake with syrup for 30-35 minutes.
Ham Loaf
This recipe is incredibly delicious and versatile. It also makes for a great freezer meal and you can change it up by making different sauces to top it with and it changes the flavor just enough so that it doesn't get old. I love to make this as a replacement for ham in holiday meals. It is simpler and quicker then actually making a whole ham. My kids absolutely love this meal and devour it every time I make it. If you have any questions leave them in the comments below. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!
