Dead Man's Fingers: Banana Rum Review
Dead Man's Fingers is a rum brand with a frankly staggering number of flavours to have come out in the last few years - their Hemp Rum was an eye catcher for folks hoping to get stoned off their booze and they've expanded ever since with an assault course of new rum flavours and even expanding into vodkas and tequilas.
This is the Dead Man's Finger's Banana rum - a lurid yellow bottle with a potent smelling liquid inside - is it any good?

INGREDIENTS
Olive oil, to coat the pan
1 clove garlic, minced
1 onion, minced
1 pound ground turkey or chicken (or beef, or pork)
1 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
1 teaspoon pepper, plus more to taste
2 tablespoons cumin
1 16-ounce can any kind of bean (garbanzo or kidney in my house), drained and rinsed
12 ounces jarred salsa (I like Trader Joe's Salsa Autentica; Mom likes Pace)
one 28-ounce (or thereabout) can/jar/carton of your favorite tomato stuff (chopped, crushed, sauce, strained, diced))
a bunch of dashes of your favorite hot sauce (or around a tablespoon)
2 long squirts of ketchup (maybe around 1/4 cup)
1/2 cup chopped cilantro, or more to taste

~ 2x 750ml Bottles of Rum (I used Angostura 7 Year)
Add Seeds of 1 vanilla bean
Peel of 1 orange
6 All Spice Berries
Large cinnamon stick
6 cloves
1/4 teaspoon fresh nutmeg
10 black peppercorns
2 slices of fresh ginger
Sweeten if you like
Let sit for 2-3 days

Cosmopolitan cocktail recipe
In the 1980s there was a pink cocktail that was hugely popular, it featured rail vodka, Rose's lime juice, and grenadine. Toby Cecchini, whilst at The Odeon in Tribeca in 1988, set out to make his own version using fresh ingredients on hand. He created a simple sour with Absolut Citron vodka, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, and Ocean Spray cranberry juice, serving it up with a lemon twist.
INGREDIENTS
2 oz / 60 ml Absolut Citron vodka
1 oz / 30 ml Cointreau
1 oz / 30 ml lime juice
1 oz / 30 ml cranberry juice

Tequila & Aperol Cocktail - aka the Dead Man's Handle!
Tequila and aperol are two ingredients that work very well together - the Part-time Lover is another great example of this flavour combination. The Dead Man's Handle was created by Tiffany Kirk from Miss Carousel in Houston.

- 45 ml Blanco Tequila (1.5 oz)
- 22.5 ml Aperol (0.75 oz)
- 15 ml Lime Juice (0.5 oz)
- 15 ml Orgeat (0.5 oz)
