How To make Crouton Quiche
2 cups croutons
2 cans salmon
drained (7 3/4 oz.)
2 tablespoons green pepper :
chopped
5 eggs
1 teaspoon fresh parsley
2 cups milk
1 pinches nutmeg
1 pinches cayenne pepper
1/4 cup Mozzarella cheese -- grated
Pepper
Grease 9 inch pie plate. Spread croutons on the bottom. Distribute the fish ove r them and sprinkle with parsley and green peppers. Pepper to taste. Combine eg gs, milk, nutmeg and cayenne pepper. Blend with a fork. Pour mixture over fish. Garnish with cheese. Cook for 10 minutes at 425 degrees, then lower heat to 37 5 degrees and bake another 20 minutes or until golden brown and firm. STOVETOP CROUTONS WITH GARLIC AND HERB VIDEO | RICHARD IN THE KITCHEN
In this video I show you how easy it is to make your own stovetop garlic and herb croutons. Day or two-old bread cut up into cubes and lightly coated in an olive oil and herb mixture then lightly toasted and browned in a skillet on the stovetop. A delicious addition to any salad or casserole dish.
Shopping List:
1 cup day old stale bread
2 tbls. olive oil
½ tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. dried basil
½ tsp. dried parsley
Pinch of kosher salt
1 tsp. olive oil for the skillet.
Directions
Dry out the bread by leaving it out for 24 to 48 hours. Once dried, cut into about ½ inch cubes.
In a bowl, add the olive oil, garlic powder, dried basil, dried parsley and the salt. Mix to combine.
Add the cubed bread to the bowl and mix to coat with the olive oil mixture.
Add the tsp. of olive oil to the skillet and allow to heat up over medium heat.
Add the coated bread cubes and toss for about 5-7 minutes until toasted and browned.
Serve on top of your favorite salad.
